Alliteration is the repetition of consonant sounds at the beginning of words. For example – Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled
peppers
Assonance is the repetition of vowel sounds. Tomorrow I need to borrow a surcease from sorrow
Onomatopoeia – words that mimic the sound of the object or action it refers to. hiss, buzz, bang, boom, roar
Internal Rhyme – rhyming within a line See how they run – like pigs from a bun.
End Rhyme – rhyming at the end of the line
