Making people laugh worldwide. On average, we spend five years of our lives waiting… In traffic, to get our passport renewed, to pick up tickets to see Céline Dion, to get into a club, to offer our condolences, to buy a new pair of shoes. We’re all just “numbers” waiting for our turn. In these forced stretches of “wasted time” we answer emails, check our Facebook feeds, or have a bite on the go. We use our time in line to think about our problems, heartbreaks, joys, and overloaded schedules. We might feel like we’re alone, but lines bring strangers into contact, forcing them to interact, confide in each other, even take action. LINE UP is a series featuring two multigenerational families whose paths cross and intertwine within the forced confines of various lines. Against this backdrop, our two families have to reconnect, stick together, assert themselves, and find their freedom before our eyes. The characters—grandparents, parents, and children—all have their own issues, but as they patiently endure the slow march to the front of the line, they reveal parts of themselves, sharing slices of their lives that are sometimes funny, sometimes tragic.
