3CL Assembly

We were entertained in last Friday’s assembly by

3CL as they taught us to ‘Keep Your Head Up’.

This inspirational song promoted a growth mindset

and is our bell music for this week.

Kindergarten 2019

We are now taking enrolments for Kindergarten

2019. Please see the 2019 Kindergarten

Orientation Program later in this week’s Lines for

details of events. We are looking forward to

meeting our new families and students!

Area Cross Country

Congratulations to our students who competed in Area Cross Country last Thursday. All students did

their best and have made us proud. A huge congratulations goes to Liam M (1st) and Spencer T (5th) who

are now representing our area at the State Cross Country Carnival later in the year.

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)

All Australian schools are required to participate annually in the NCCD. The NCCD draws on teachers'

professional judgement and practices throughout the year supporting students with disability to access

and participate in education on the same basis as other students. Under the NCCD model, teachers and

school staff use their professional, informed judgement, based on evidence, to determine the level of

adjustment students with disability receive, in both the classroom and whole of school context, as well as

the broad category of disability that relates to the adjustments. Please see the detailed information about

the NCCD later in the lines.

of luck. Students in Stage 3 did a great job spelling some very difficult words.

Congratulations to the winner, Victoria H in 5/6S and runner-up, Caleb G in 6N. We

Blue Mufti for Stewart House

Our school held a Blue Mufti Day last Friday to raise money for Stewart House. Students had fun

dressing in blue for the day and raised just over $880. Thank you to everyone who donated a gold coin

to this worthwhilel charity.

P&C Run Working Bee

We are asking the Garden Club, students,

teachers and our parent community to help with

the P &C run National Plant a Tree day on Sunday

29 July. Please see the flyer attached later in the

Lines.

School Plant a Tree Day, Poster

Competition and ‘A Splash of Green’

Each year, around 3,000 schools across Australia

take part in Schools Plant a Tree Day. Lindfield Public school will be participating in ‘Plant a Tree Day’

on Friday July 27, during the school day. On this day students are invited to wear ‘A Splash of Green’.

They wear their full school uniform and then can add a splash of green in the form of hair bands, wrist

bands, socks, ribbons, green hat etc.

The Garden Club will be holding a poster competition for the P&C Working Bee. Miss Ginges and Miss

Sorrell will be handing the poster templates to interested students this week. Each student must put their

name and class on the back of their poster and must include details of the event. Posters are due back

to Miss Sorrell and Miss Ginges by the last day of this term. We will then display posters created to

promote this event!

Recreational Sport – Term 3

Tomorrow students not in a Winter PSSA team will take home a note for Recreational Sport preferences

for Term 3. These include basketball, tennis, table tennis, Zumba and rock climbing (for Years 5 and 6

only). Preferences will only be accepted through the School Interviews website. Term 3 PSSA and

Recreational Sport will run for 5 weeks, from Week 1 (Friday 27 July) to Week 5 (Friday 24 August).

Work on Display

Anaphylaxis at Lindfield Public School At Lindfield Public School in 2018, we have a small number of children with a potentially life threatening

allergic reaction. They are found across our school from Kindergarten to Year 6.

How can parents help these children?

If possible, choose alternative sandwich spreads to peanut butter and Nutella. If

you have no alternative, inform your child that these foods can trigger an

anaphylactic reaction.

Reinforce the school’s NO FOOD SHARING message.

Please note, no students are allowed to bring glass bottles to

school for safety reasons.

Strings

Music Camp

The 2018 Music Camp was a great success. Thanks to

the tireless organisation and planning by our Music Camp

Coordinator Rhyan and all his helpers from the Band,

Canteen and Strings committees everything went

smoothly at camp and the students truly enjoyed

themselves. The Strings committee sent 103 children to

camp this year with almost half of them staying overnight

for at least one night.

We would like to thank all the parent volunteers who

helped at camp – starting from the set up on Sunday and

the breakfast at LPS on Monday morning all the way to

the set up and clean up at the end of camp concert on

Tuesday. All of our parents were amazing!

On behalf of the parents and children we would also like

to thank the wonderful teachers who helped at camp and

on Monday morning at LPS. Thank you for being there for

us, staying overnight and keeping an eye on our children.

Open rehearsals for Mozart

The Mozart ensemble would like to kindly invite all Mozart families to join them for an open rehearsal on Monday 2 July at 3:15pm in the Hall. The children and conductors have worked very hard at Music Camp and would love to perform their music for their families. Please join us to see a Mozart rehearsal in action and to listen to their latest pieces. The Amadeus ensemble will meet outside the Hall under the COLA. We will make a decision on a location for their rehearsal depending on numbers and the weather.

Music Camp 2018 - A Great Success!

The campfire has burnt out; the disco lights have dimmed; the lolly bags are empty; lost property is finding its way home; and the sunshine has returned. Another successful Music Camp is over with smiles all around. It was a pity the weather defeated us on Tuesday when we had the new major activities planned but we will try to reschedule them into the program again in 2019.

We tried a few new things this year to enhance the children's enjoyment and got most of them right. We can always improve further and are open to any feedback people may have to ensure it steps up again next time.

Just a quick closing message to once again thank all of the volunteers and teachers and committee members who made this year's camp so enjoyable. A lot of hard work goes into these productions and we will shortly commence our planning for next year.
