As I write this we are just about to go to the annual ACA Tri-State Camp Conference. Besides learning the most we can on all new ideas and staying close to other camp people, the best part of the convention is that from now until we get to camp is always so quick. It’s also so exciting to see our beautiful camp transformed into a newer more beautiful place. Our upgrades this year have put us right at the top of the world’s finest camps and even though our kids are “tough” they will appreciate the A/C in all major buildings and everyone will benefit. Everything at camp “trickles down”. Well rested senior management leads a bit softer to our Division Leaders and Counselors and the kids benefit. We also have a “trickle up”. Happy well rested campers are a bit “gentler” with their counselors. All around, up and down, our upgrades will benefit all. So exciting to watch and be a part of!! Enjoy the coming spring and extra hour of daylight!!

DEAR KIDS, PARENTS & FAMILY,

We believe that camp is the most special place on earth. Over the years it has always been such a strange feeling to close down camp in September. Having such an amazing camp with so much to offer it just didn’t make sense or feel right to do so. As you know we have been adding air conditioning to most of our indoor buildings and a handful of our bunks and making a ton of physical improvements.

The primary reason for doing so was to make our camp the best possible camp we can. With all of these improvements we are going to be able to operate camp on a year round basis. We are going to be launching the Lindenmere Retreat and Conference Center this fall so that we will be open all year round! We have over 10 years of experience running all types of groups from weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvah’s, corporate retreats and school groups but our “season” was always cut short by winter.

We have already started to book Bar/Bat Mitzvah’s, adult camps, corporate retreats, weddings, school groups, ski groups, family retreats and much more for the 2017/2018 season. Our facilities will be set up to fully cater all types of events and group sizes. We will be launching our new website for the conference center soon but we wanted to let all of our camp families know ahead of time in case you have an event on the horizon. Is there a better place to come and celebrate than at your own camp?!

We are happy to announce that after several years with us as the boys and girls Head Counselors, Kat and Elliott are being promoted to Assistant Directors! They are going to be keeping most of their year-round season jobs here in the Florida office. Elliott is going to be continuing his duties as the boys Head Counselor along with the many other things that keep him busy during the summer such as travel, pre and post groups and much more. Kat is going to be switching her duties this summer and taking on the responsibilities of the Program Director. Being that our choice program is such a huge part of Lindenmere we are excited to have a year round staff member take this on. So much of what she is going to see during the summer in the department areas we will be able to take from and continue to grow our amazing program. She is still going to be involved with girl’s side with Monica, but we will be hiring a new girl’s Head Counselor. We are proud of everything that both Kat and Elliott have achieved over the years and couldn’t feel better about their new positions as Assistant Directors. Congratulations guys!!!

We wanted to announce a number of improvements that we are making to our food service this summer. In an effort to give our

campers the best possible baked good options we have teamed up with Rockland Bakery to have a lot of our breads (not the bagels

or pastries, sorry they are not nut free) delivered fresh daily. They have a new facility that is completely nut free. We are also going to be removing the

“bug juice” from the menu as well. There are now juice cups that are made from 100% real fruit that will be at your table and stocked in the salad bars. We are going to be serving them for both breakfast and lunch. Yes kids that does mean that you won’t have them at dinner and will have to drink more water but we have another surprise

for you. We are going to be adding a bunch of options at the canteen for you. Including the fresh fruit that we added last year, we are going to be adding soft

pretzels on a regular basis, a popcorn machine, a slushy machine and a few other surprises. Ice cream is also going to be served nightly in the canteen on

the same old school dishes, but we are also going to be adding a toppings bar and the option to put the ice cream on a cone!
