  • The admission counter is a magnet for information and directions for our visitors, student, staff and

faculty. I provide effective and efficient service to first-time students, college transfer students,

individual approval and non-degree seeking students that opens the way for acquiring skills, knowledge,

interest and career. Im self-motivated and highly qualified to meet the needs of our students in a

timely not to lose them to another institution waiting to fulfill that need. I strategically position to serve

and complete the daily task load. What better outcome is there than to have a student say, this is the

    best/friendliest college I been to.

Daily. I work to make the articulation process evolve to be more efficient. Ive corrected 10s of

thousands of external school records and will continue affording the transfer students with correct

equivalencies and transcripts articulations in the most efficient manner. I have reduced the time frame

for external transcript articulations down from months, to weeks and at certain times of the semester

down to days, all along with entering prospective student information, applications, transcripts

information, TSIA information, test scores, answering phone calls, scanning, processing graduation

application, and working counter 4.5 hours (this is the most fun).

Each year I participate in a number of student activities. My choice, the intramural sports. I promote

team building, spirit lifting, and cheering. Ive seen a major transformation in our students from the

first sports day, in which the students from various schools didnt interact with one another, divided

sidelines. Now, GC invites them to sit together, share sunscreen, snacks, drinks, lunch and conversation.

After games not only do we shake hands, but an occasional hug is exchanged between the teams. It

makes my heart happy. This is the way GC rolls.

Over the years, Ive served as Chairman, Vice President, and Secretary to the Employees Wellness &

Relations Committee. My suggested goal for the 2014-0215 committee is to recommend to implement

Free Tuition at GC for all full-time GC employee (degree seeking and/or non-degree seeking, leisure).

I extend connections with faculty, advisor, counseling, registrar, admission team and students in the

graduation process. The team work has proven to promote student success. This is evident as our

graduation rate has continued to grow each year. Some of our students, not sure how, where, or why

theyre here, but with the assistance and support from the various facets of the college: Counseling,

Advising, Financial Aid, Library, Business Office, Tutoring, Administration, Faculty and staff they grow

ready for the workforce and/or university tract.

    Thank you, all.
