It is an excing me of year, espe- cially for the Chamber! We are excited to be having Pastor Courtney Carson as our key note speaker for the 6 th Annual Mt. Zion Community Prayer Breakfast. The Prayer Breakfast will be held October 25 th at the Mt. Zion Convenon Center. The Community Prayer Breakfast is such a great way for us to celebrate faith and com- munity. I encourage all of you to aend. Even beer, purchase a table for your business or group. Tickets will be $10 each ,and this year’s caterer is Angelo’s. Those of you who aended last year’s Prayer Breakfast may recall the delicious meal Angelo’s catered. We are expecng another excellent meal from JI and his staff. Don’t forget to make your luncheon reservaon by Monday, September 11th. This month it will be held at Crawford’s Pizza with Ellen Hearn as our speaker. September is here and the promise of autumn weather is just around the corner. Kids

are back to school and football is getting underway. It is an exciting time of year, espe-

cially for the Chamber! We are excited to be having Pastor Courtney Carson as our key

note speaker for the 6th Annual Mt. Zion Community Prayer Breakfast. The Prayer

Breakfast will be held October 25th at the Mt. Zion Convention Center.

Ellen Hearn’s specialty is Human Resource Management and Organizational Development She has been involved in managing mergers, acquisitions, technology upgrades and other large-scale organizational changes, and is currently consulting for small to medium range employers in Cen-tral Illinois, Chicago and Tennessee. She is an HR professional with the knowledge and experi-ence to identify the strategic solutions to address your business needs. Ellen has a B.S. Degree in Business and her SHRM-SCP certification.

Another service to our members is the Mt. Zion area New Resident’s List. Send me an e-mail if you wish to

receive this list of new resident’s and businesses that have moved in this area. These are not new Chamber

members; they are homeowners, apartment dwellers, and businesses. I e-mail this list our once a month to

Mt. Zion Welcome Bags

Starting with the September luncheon, you can drop off items for the Mt. Zion

Welcome Bags at the registration desk. Connie Mandoline delivers about 25

bags per month. Any number of marketing items or information are

appreciated; but if you provide 50-75, your materials can be distributed over

about three months to new residents in Mt. Zion. You can still drop your items

off at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 1220 W. Main Street, Mt. Zion,

Monday - Thursday before noon. If it is after those hours, you can leave your

items at the door of the church as someone will bring them in and take them to

the church office.

September 15th is the deadline to place an ad in the commerative member-

ship directory. While space is still available, order your company or organiza-

tion’s ad for the special edition Mt. Zion Chamber of Commerce’s 30th Anni-

versary Membership Directory . It’s a great opportunity to highlight your

products and/or services. Get you message out to your fellow chamber mem-

bers and prospective customers by placing an ad in this year’s membership di-

rectory.
