Lead Assembly (District 74) March 2013 – March 2016American Cancer Society – Cancer Action Network• Served as integral Representative for Leadership Summit & National Lobby Day, National Caucus Day & Legislative Day with State Legislators. • Wrote policy products including facts sheets, position statements, and model legislation that support California Air Resources Board S. 375 and ACS Nutrition and Physical Activity Guideline for Cancer Prevention, which includes funding, infrastructure & safety improvements. • Sponsored & passed the Formulatory Transparency Act S.1052, which makes access to formulatory information more consumer friendly and ensures that the formulary is updated. As a result, Covered California must now provide direct links to Qualified Health Plan formulary information.• Work collaboratively and interpersonally with ACS CAN teams to communicate policy positions on The Sunscreen Innovation Act. This will result in fewer cases of skin cancer and fewer lives lost to deadly melanoma.
