Dear Lincoln Classmates of the Great Year 1960: Welcome to our Forty-fifth Reunion at the Tacoma Yacht Club! This is 2005, so it must be forty-five years since graduation! When we look back, we have all experienced life's ups and downs. We have children, careers, dreams both achieved and failed, and all the while proud that we attended a school named after a great American. Our class members live all over the world, yet the majority remain in Pierce County. (How can we leave such a beautiful place?) Classmates are at the reunion from Florida, Hawaii, Virginia, Chicago, California, Canada, and beyond. We are bonded for life because of common experiences, friendships to be renewed and acknowledgement by others that we were once young. (Our children would never believe it.) Being at a reunion is somewhat like living in the present and past at the same time. Is that possible? We can do it! Enjoy every minute. Drink deeply of the sweet nectar of friends and memories. Included in this booklet are lists of deceased classmates and of classmates we are unable to locate. More than 72 of our classmates are no longer with us physically. We solemnly remember and honor our deceased classmates. The reality of our fragility becomes clearer with each passing, and causes us to be thankful for our friends and loved ones, both living and deceased. The committee has had much fun planning our 45th reunion. Thank you for coming this weekend...it wouldn't be a reunion without YOU! Thanks also to each of you who sent in an "update" response form and/or a picture for this booklet. There are several opportunities to be involved in Lincoln today, such as mentoring a Gates Scholar or becoming involved with supporting Lincoln in much needed fund raising for extra opportunities for the Lincoln students. If either of these appeal to you, please let Carol know by calling 253-983-0064. And may we all gather again in 5 years for our 50th! Most Sincerely, Bob Latterell and Carol (Strobel) Colleran, Co-Chairs

CLASSMATES RESPONSE FORMS (alphabetical by maiden or last name)

Pat (Booth) Kerns (photo) My son, Aaron Harrington and his family live on Bainbridge Island. Their daughter, Zoe is a lot of fun. I’m very fortunate in having a very loving family. My stepchildren, Janet, Michel, and Harold plus their children Kayla, Nikki, Leah, and Brendan are each very special to me. I have traveled a lot but still dream of visiting Nashville and Greece. I love country music and Greek food. I’m disappointed when I can’t find a parking spot for the Greek Festival. It’s fun bumping into former classmates. I enjoy going to the Pantages, TAG, and Tacoma Little Theater. Friendship is a great treasure.

Mary Jane CITES Schulz (photo) Mary Jane retired this year as the College & Scholarship Coordinator at Wilson High School. Ken, after being in the classroom for thirty-five years, is the Instructional Technology Coordinator for new school construction in Tacoma. They have three children; Scott, Stacy and Joshua, two daughters-in-law, Millie and Kim, and three adorable grandchildren; Maddie/10, Isabella/4 and Cooper/3. Mary and Ken feel blessed that both families live nearby. Lake Chelan and the Phoenix area are favorite vacation spots. I have great memories of my years at Lincoln. Thank you to all who organized the reunion.

Name ____SHARON RAE (COLE) DEPTULA___ (photo) I have 2 sons and 2 very beautiful granddaughters (who are old enough for me to start lying about their ages). I have been working as a Civil Engineering Technician for the better part of my life and hope to retire in the very near future. Presently, I am working for the City of Tacoma Water Department. Lincoln Memory: All the really great people I had in all my classes. Plans: My retirement plans include travel, scuba diving, learning some new dances and making lots of new friends. I also hope to get involved with volunteer work (although I haven’t quite decided what as yet). I plan to enjoy this hard earned retirement to the max.
