NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR
I have long been fascinated by the link between the everyday life of individuals and the economic, political and cultural trends influencing the times in which they live. This particular play explores the relationships between different people trying to navigate the world of aging and caregiving in America. Although the story is fic-tional, it’s full of details, expressions and incidents drawn directly from the hundreds of caregivers, family members, older adults and others who graciously shared their time to help shape this play. I am grateful for their stories, and find myself humbled and inspired by their emotional strength. This play is a testament to their heart.
NOTE FROM THE CO -PRODUCER
In 2009, after experiencing the transformative power of the care provided by Nora Patterson Carty and Glenda Harmer and their crew, when dealing with a family member, I was determined to give credence and respect to their resonant talents. Take Care is the result of this journey and exploration.
