This year’s hog roast will include outdoor activities for children and others of all ages (including volleyball), a
hayrack ride, and it is all wrapped up in a beautiful outdoor setting. You may even just sit and enjoy the fel-
lowship outdoors.
Bring a dish to share; hog, baked beans, table service and beverage will be provided. You may also bring a
favorite outdoor family game.
The Hog Roast will be held at the country home of Chris & Shonda Dyer: 28531 Montrose Drive.
In case of rain, this event will be held at the Church.

Bible Study Fellowship For Men & Women
Tuesday Nights: 6:30-8:00pm
Dates: September 11 – December 11, 2018
January 8 – May 7, 2019
Our study this year is called People of the Promised Land, part 1: From Josh-ua to Solomon, God’s united people entered and flourished in the Promised Land. Beginning with Israel’s entrance into Canaan under the leadership of Joshua, People of the Promised Land charts the ups and downs of the nation of Israel, and covers the united kingdom of Israel, from Joshua to Solomon. We will study the books of Joshua, Ruth, 1 and 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1-11 and over-views of Psalms and Proverbs.
Women & men can sign up at the first meeting on September 11. There will be an informational meeting that night for anyone new. Women will meet in the sanctuary; men will meet in the children’s wing. Childcare will be available.

UGANDA NOW OUTREACH A few years ago the folks of the Lighthouse Church carried buckets of water from the little wetland back to the church to envision what it's like to not have water at the turn of a faucet. We were only threatened by toy snakes, lions and fake alligators, while the folks in Uganda were threatened by the real things, as well as kids being kidnapped by other tribes, while fetching water for many miles daily. The generous people of our church raised enough money to drill these two wells through Uganda NOW that provide fresh water for around 4,000 children and adults.
Due to terrain that was difficult to get drilling equipment to the first well site the Uganda government built roads to assist with the project. After the wells were completed a whole new life style erupted around those areas. Along with new roads came new methods of transportation. The teachers at Kansas Col-lege (named for where most of their funding is from) had generally been un-paid. But a new taxi service was started, called Boda Bodas, that now pay a percentage to the teachers. These are motorcycles that are used to carry anyone, with anything, or as many as possible, anywhere from border to border for around $1.50 total.
However, there are still needs that we can continue to help with through Uganda NOW. Recently a clinic was completed to help with the continued problems of Typhoid and Cholera. Also it is possible to sponsor a student at Kansas College for $38 a month. That takes care of their uniform, three meals, a bed with mattress, bedding, shoes, security, net, medication, and tuition. The 240 students range in age from 12 to 19 and Kansas College has transformed many kids into professional adults.
