1.2 Brief Description
The LiftXpress control system records both the calling location and the destination of travel simultaneously
and forwards this information from each of the levels to the lift control system. All input/output terminals
(such as floor terminals, car terminals and porter terminals) including the interfaces to the lift control
system (Ethernet gateways) are linked to the LiftXpress server via Ethernet network. The terminals for call
destination input are equipped with graphic user guidance and designed as touchscreens.
Using the LiftXpress control system:
boosts the lift’s transport performance
means no other inputs have to be keyed in the car
allows floor-dependent specifications to be integrated into laying out and displaying call input

of the right-hand footer position 450 x 96 logo_ru.bmp
Directory of graphs*:
for customer graphs: [drive]:\Program Files\Kollmorgen\VisualFloor\Data\Skin\UserImg
for standard graphs: [drive]:\Program Files\Kollmorgen\VisualFloor\Data\Skin\klnlogo
NOTES
*The above filenames, the directory and the format (BMP) of graphs are obligatory.
Please remember that freely selectable graphs are only available from a panel resolution of 800 x 600
pixels.
The program generates automatically the frames of the graphics. The type and the colour of the frames
are not changeable.
If no graphics are preset, the area in the display gets the background colour.
The routines below describe how you can integrate your own graphs or shield other graphs.

Show customer graphs in all terminals:
Use one of the designations:
<<logo_lo.bmp>> (display position: top left)
<<logo_lu.bmp>> (display position: bottom left)
<<logo_ru.bmp>> (display position: bottom right)
for your graph file in accordance with the later display position. Then store this graph in the directory:
<<[Drive]:\program files\Kollmorgen\VisualFloor\Data\Skin\UserImg>>
Example
You want your customer graph to appear at the left-hand header position on all levels. Store your graph
under the filename <<logo_lo.bmp>> in the above directory.
Show level-dependent graphs in the level terminals:
Use one of the designations <<logo_lo.bmp>>, <<logo_lu.bmp>> or <<logo_ru.bmp>> for your graph
file in accordance with the later display position and supplement the level designation in the filename:
<<logo_lo_[Level name].bmp>>
<<logo_lu_[Level name].bmp>>
<<logo_ru_[Level name].bmp>>
Store these graphs in the directory:
<<[Drive]:\program files\Kollmorgen\VisualFloor\Data\Skin\UserImg>>
Example
You only want your graph to appear at the left-hand footer position on level 19. Store your graph under
the filename <<logo_lu_19.bmp>> in the above directory.

Show control-dependent graphs in the car terminal:
Use one of the designations <<logo_lo.bmp>>, <<logo_lu.bmp>> or <<logo_ru.bmp>> for your graph
file in accordance with the later display position and supplement the control designation in the filename:
<<logo_lo_[Controller name].bmp>>
<<logo_lu_[Controller name].bmp>>
<<logo_ru_[Controller name].bmp>>
Store these graphs in the directory:
<<[Drive]:\program files\Kollmorgen\VisualFloor\Data\Skin\UserImg>>
Example
You want your graph to appear at the left-hand footer position in the car of the control system named
<<Lift1>>. Store your graph under the filename <<logo_lu_Lift1.bmp>> in the above directory.
Shield graphs:
You need a graph file to be able to shield graphs. For instance, you can recreate this file at the size of 1
x 1 pixels or also use an already existing file.
Select one of the designations <<logo_lo…>>, <<logo_lu…>> or <<logo_ru...>> in accordance with the
position in the display that is not supposed to output a graph and add the prefix <<no_>> to the
filename:
<<no_logo_lo.bmp>>, …
<<no_logo_lo_[Level name].bmp>>, …
<<no_logo_lo_[Controller name].bmp>>, …
The range of the <<no_logo_...>> file is filled with the background colour.
Note: Graph files with the <<no_>> prefix have maximum priority in the display.
Store these graphs in the directory:
<<[Drive]:\program files\Kollmorgen\VisualFloor\Data\Skin\UserImg>>
Examples
You do not want a graph to appear at the left-hand header position in any level. Store your graph under
the filename <<no_logo_lo.bmp>> in the above directory.
You do not want a graph to appear at the left-hand footer position on level 19. Store your graph under
the filename <<no_logo_lu_19.bmp>> in the above directory.
You do not want a graph to appear at the left-hand footer position in the car of the control system with
the name <<Lift1>>. Store your graph under the filename <<no_logo_lu_Lift1.bmp>> in the above
directory.

General routine for compiling the audio files:
1. Set up a folder under <<[Drive]:\program files\Kollmorgen\VisualFloor\Data\>> designated <<Audio>>.
2. Regardless of the language desired, set up a folder in the <<Audio>> folder designated <<de>> for
announcements in German or a folder designated <<en>> for announcements in English.
3. Copy all audio files needed from the directory in the desired language under <<[Drive]:\program
files\Kollmorgen\VisualFloor\Data\Templates\Audio\...>> in the new folder set up in step 2.
Notes
Take the aforementioned steps to supplement the audio files provided at the factory or replace them
with your own announcements. If you replace existing audio files with your own announcements, always
remember only to use the specified filenames and comply with the format specifications for the audio
files.
You can not only specify the standard announcements of the <<door[0,1].wav>> door sides that issue
the same text on all floors, but also announcements for specific floors for door side 1 and/or door side 2.
To use this functionality, you have to:
store every announcement in a file under any name in the folder
<<... Data\Audio\[de,en]>> and
assign these files to the floors and door sides in the <<Audiofiles.xml>> configuration
file.
Example 2 describes how you set up announcements for specific floors for door sides.
Examples of compiling audio files:
Example 1 – specifications for compiling the audio files:
group with 3 lifts
5 floors
door side 1 and door side 2 with standard text announcements on all floors
German announcements
The <<Audio\en>> folders are set up under <<[Drive]:\program
files\Kollmorgen\VisualFloor\Data\>>.
How to proceed:
1. Copy the following audio files from the <<en>> folder under <<[Drive]:\program
files\Kollmorgen\VisualFloor\Data\Templates\Audio>> into the
<<en>> folder under <<[Drive]:\program files\Kollmorgen\VisualFloor\Data\Audio>>:

How to proceed:
1. Create the 4 audio files for door side announcements for specific floors (you can select
any filenames). Store these files in the <<en>> folder under <<[Drive]:\program
files\Kollmorgen\VisualFloor\Data\Audio>>.
Here is an example:
floor 1: door1-floor1.wav, door2-floor1.wav,
floor 2: door1-floor2.wav, door2-floor2.wav;
2. Copy the following audio files from the <<en>> folder under <<[Drive]:\program files
\Kollmorgen\VisualFloor\Data\Templates\Audio>> into the
<<en>> folder under <<[Drive]:\program files\Kollmorgen\VisualFloor\Data\Audio>>:
* The door side announcements are the same on floors 3-5.
3. Copy the <<Audiofiles.xml>> configuration file from the <<Templates>> folder under

6 VFAccess User Administration
You have <<VFAccess>> as an independent program for administrating access authorisation for users of
the LiftXpress system. You can select it as an option at system installation.
This program lets you set up users and assign them authorisation for using the LiftXpress system. There is
no limit to the number of users. Each user is given a 4-digit code number to log onto terminals. For
instance, you can decide that a user can only key in a call on specific levels to levels that are also preset
or you can request certain special trips.
Note
There are no active restrictions to access in standard settings. You can only use <<VFAccess>> when
users are set up and their access authorisation has also been set up.

9.1 Notes for Installing the LiftXpress Control System
The components of the LiftXpress control system:
MPK control system
Ethernet gateway
LiftXpress-Server
all terminals (floor, car, …)
Modem
are supplied preinstalled by the manufacturer.
The customer should provide an independent Ethernet network.
The LiftXpress control system may not be integrated into an existing Ethernet network.
The cables and all plug-and-socket connectors for the Ethernet network have to meet the specification
below:
LAN UTP / BS-H 200 MHz - CAT.7e flexible
Don’t exceed the max. cable length of 90 m.
The Ethernet network is based on star topology, branch lines are not permitted.
The voltage drop with long lines should be taken into consideration for the terminal voltage supply.
Don’t change the setting <<destination dispatch>> under <<basic settings / lift / control type>>. It is the
condition for a error free running of the lift group.
9.2 Notes for Maintenance the LiftXpress Control System
Do not update the server operation system without a release of the Kollmorgen Steuerungstechnik
GmbH, Cologne. A unauthorised update can set the LiftXpress system out of order!
Exchange faulty system components only for original components. Only the original components
contain the special settings for your system!
