Enjoy working with children, youth and adults. Ensuring excellence in the delivery of programs and providing exceptional member services. Responsibilities & Tasks: Participate in the water with all instructional classes. Provide a safe aquatic environment by lifeguarding to NLS standards. Ensure quality assurance in the delivery of aquatic programming. Respond to members’ concerns in a positive and professional manner. Model values, philosophies and visions of the Association. Demonstrate effective communication between staff and members to ensure understanding of program goals and outcomes. Maintain relevant certifications. Be available to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings and weekends.

Nature and Scope:

Qualifications and Competencies:

Qualifications:

• Must be 16 years old or older • NLS • One of the following Instructor certifications:

o YMCA Swim Instructor o Swim Instructor (LSS) o Lifesavings Instructor (LSS) o Water Safety Instructor (Red Cross)

• Current, clear Vulnerable Sector Police Criminal Check • Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C (Must be recertified every two years) • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. • Able to effectively communicate with members of all ages, staff and colleagues.
