TransportationStudents must purchase transportation before visiting the Insurance booth.
They have the option of used and new.
On top of the monthly payment, $150 has been included for gasoline and maintenance.

HousingStudents must purchase housing before visiting the Insurance booth
They have the option to rent of buy but must purchase a house that fits their family size. For example, if they have three children they must purchase a home with at least three bedrooms. One for them and at least two for their children.

Insurance•Before students can purchase insurance,
they must visit and purchase items at the housing and transportation booths.
• It is very hard to find insurance estimates on the internet. My advice is to go straight to the source, your local insurance agents.

Medical/Dental•This is the only booth where purchasing
something is optional.•Beware! There are risks when we go un-
and/or under- insured.

during the fair. •Duties: help students with decisions,
filling out their checkbook, or helping them get a second job.

Items to think about 3 months prior to the event…• Schedule date of Reality Store• Establish a core committee (3-5) to manage the
responsibilities of conducting a Reality Store• Contact resource people to serve as chairpersons for each
booth • Contact volunteers within the community to assist with
each booth• Contact facility• Reserve rooms and proper number of tables and chairs• Set layout of booths to allow for proper flow of participants
through the store• Schedule volunteer orientation for Reality Store• Develop a budget

make copies and compile booth volunteer materials, brochures for students
• Contact media (newspaper, radio, and television)• Schedule the day of the Reality Store for
students, breaks for volunteer and lunch• Coordinate refreshments/lunch• Send volunteer letter with description of Reality
Store, date and time of event, directions to the facility and sample paperwork used day of
