  • Sneaky way to get discounts off when you are shopping onlineIf you are buying online from a new retailer, register on the site, and then add what you want in your cart. Then close out the page. In the next day, you usually will get an email that reminds you that you left something in your cart, and will give you a promotion code for a discount of that item. Average savings from this is 10-20%.

7 kitchen hacks that will make your life easier1. Measure sticky stuff without the mess: Coat

a measure cup or spoon with a dab of cooking oil (or spray) before measuring sticky stuff like honey. The oil will help it slide right off, without leaving you with something sticky to scrub at later.

    2. Soften butter quickly: Grate butter with a cheese grater or flatten it with a rolling pin for spreadable, mixable butter when you are short on time.

    3. Cut soft cheeses with ease: You can use unscented dental floss to cut through soft cheeses like Brie to avoid smushing it. This tip also works for cakes and cookie dough logs.

    4. De-crystalize Honey: Take your crystalized honey container and put it in a bowl of hot water for 5-10 minutes. When you take it out, it will be de-crystalized.

    5. Speed up ripening: Make your bananas turn from green to yellow faster by putting it in a paper bag. When fruit is placed in paper bags,

concentrated ethylene gas helps it to ripen faster.

    6. Easily scoop out squash seeds: Scoop seeds from vegetables like squash and pumpkin with an ice cream scoop. The edge of the spoon is sharp, and it cuts through fiber and gooey stuff of the vegetable more effectively than your hand or a spoon.

    7. Peel boiled eggs in a big batch: You can peel multiple hardboiled eggs at once by shaking them in a lidded container. The eggs wont look pretty when you are done, but they will be ready for a delicious egg salad.

Another Key Added to Your Life? This would usually mean youre about to lose another fingernail adding it to your key ring, but not today! All you need to do is grab a staple remover and use it to open the key ring, then add your new key!

Your Turn To Carpool?(or Your Turn to Grab A Large Drink Order?)To handle drinks for a large group of people (and especially kids) you can use a laundry basket with a large muffin pan in the bottom as a drink caddy.

Your Turn To Do The Tailgate? To save time and space, you can use a muffin tin to serve condiments.

  • Desk cords keep falling? You can fix this in seconds! All you need is black metal binders for each cord. Run the cord through the binder, then clip it to the side of your desk. Voila! No more falling cords.

Did you just finish labeling your cords and turn around to see that your precious angel broke their favorite Disney DVD?Youre in luck, because Disney offers a replacement service for any of their DVDs or Blu-Ray discs. A DVD will cost you $6.95 and a Blu-Ray will be $8.95. Thats way better than the $24.99 you would normally have to pay to make sure your kid can watch Frozen on a permanent loop. Check it out here.

Scared of unplugging the wrong gizmo?Do you ever have trouble keeping up with which plug youre about to pull? Simply save the small plastic bread tag from your bread, label it with what the plug is going to, and affix it to the cord near the plug.

Long day at work, organizing electrical outlets and dealing with broken DVDs?Now you want a glass of wine, but you dont have a corkscrew (or even worse the cork broke)? Simply take a nail, hammer it into the cork, leave a little sticking out, and use the claw of the hammer to pull out the cork.

Do you like ice cream with your wine? But you hate waiting for the ice cream to get soft? Simply store your ice cream in a plastic ziplock bag and it will be as soft as the first time you opened it.

Make a FREE kickstand with your phone with sunglassesWhy spend $30-$60 on a phone case with a kickstand when you can use your sunglasses as a free kickstand? Watch this video to see the simple way to use your sunglasses as a kickstand. Click on the image or here to play the video.

Use the Seinfeld Method to Stay MotivatedJerry Seinfeld once discussed his method for becoming a better comic. Every day that he wrote new material, he would mark a big red X on the calendar. After a while, the chain of

Xs was something he felt compelled to continue. Every day that you make it to the gym or eat right (or any good for you habit you are trying to pick up), mark a large red X on the calendar to keep yourself motivatedseeing the chain of Xs will help you stay on track.

Pack a gym bag for work that you will actually useBuy a set of workout clothes you look good in, and fill your gym bag with toiletries you actually like using, and you will have less excuses to go to the gym. Pack whatever you need to come back to work or go out with friends with ease so your lack of necessities isnt an excuse to get your exercise on.

Substitute cinnamon in your coffeeSubstitute cream and sugar with cinnamon. Not only does it have fewer calories, it is also good for you. It can reduce blood sugar levels, and contains antioxidants to boost the immune system.

Replace desserts with fruitFruits can actually satisfy your sweet tooth as well as traditional desserts. And they are good for you. They provide fiber and antioxidants, and they can help you avoid the after-meal sugar crash.

Go to the gym during off peak timesAvoid hitting the gym during the busiest times when there is a line for your favorite machines and weights. Exercising during off-peak hours means less waiting, less traffic, and a more efficient workout.

Best Friend Hair Problems? You can remove cat and dog hair in a sinch! All you need is a squeegee. Simply run the squeegee over the carpet and the hair will come up like magic. If youre in a pinch and dont have a squeegee, you can also use duct tape. Just lay strips over the hairy area and pull!

Home alone and want extra peace of mind? The police recommended Super Grip Lock will keep anyone from opening your door. Even if they have a key. You can also use this on doors when traveling.

A Tip for Your Next Visit to the Doctor from a Fellow LifeHacks ReaderDo you hate going to a new doctor and having to fill out forms listing all past medical conditions and prescriptions you are on?

I solved this problem by making a spreadsheet listing the past medical conditions/surgeries, dates, and any other pertinent info.

Also, I have made a spreadsheet listing all my prescriptions, dosage, instructions - a.m./p.m., and date started. For my own info, I also describe the medication; i.e. capsule, color, whatever. Makes it so much easier for me to fill my weekly prescription boxes. I also include the supplements, dosage, and list a.m. or p.m.

Before seeing the doctor, I print out the info and just hand it to the medical personnel. I have been thanked for this info every time.

Save money on your credit card bill by asking for a rate reductionTake any of your credit cards carrying a balance, and call the company directly. Tell them that you want an interest rate reduction or you will take your business elsewhere. If the first person you speak with wont give you the rate reduction, ask to talk to a supervisor. This could save quite a bit of money in the long run. If you have a $5,000 balance, even a 3% reduction saves you $150 per year.

Clean your cars air filter to save $100 for every 10,000 miles you driveA clean air filter can improve your gas mileage by up to 7%, saving you more than $100 bucks for every 10,000 miles you drive it. Plus, changing it out is easy to do. Follow the instructions in your cars manual and you will be good to go!
