through Life Groups.

The Critical Adaptive Challenge:

To foster and sustain an increase in the number of Life Groups effective in making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world

• The weekend experience has an average of 4,000 attendees each week.

• There are currently 51 active Life Groups at the church campus with an average of 12 members of a Life Group.

• There are roughly 3,400 attendees not plugged into a Life Group.

3 Primary areas of effectiveness

o Engaging our members to strive towards making disciples in current Life Groups (which include children and youth ministries) to draw up new leadership for multiplication of Life Groups.

o Providing Life Group Mentors who will focus on walking with, developing, coaching and leading Life Group leaders; they are influential, goal-setters that inspire the leaders through sharing Scriptural teaching, academic involvement and accountability partnership.

o Offering Life Group Leaders training and fostering group maintenance through Bible study, prayer, idea collection/plan formulation/plan follow through, and record keeping. Leaders fall under the authority of a Mentor.

• There is a critical need for an intentional campaign aimed at widespread inclusion (every man, woman and child) within Life Groups.

• The campus is in need of more Life Groups and leaders.

• The Life Group team has a need for metrics as a means of accountability and goal setting.

• The Life Groups have not been effective in keeping up with the expansive growth of the campus.

• The Call to Action Research indicated that there was a lack of measures and accountability within the Life Groups.

• The primary elements that drive structure and process effectiveness are:

1. clarity of responsibility (goal and role clarity); 2. authority to carry out responsibility; and 3. accountability for results

• GROWING

• The need for statistical data regarding growth in Life Group attendance, the number of Life Groups and multiplication of current Life Groups.

• ENGAGING PEOPLE

• Engaging our members to lead Life Groups within their spheres of influence and not just assimilate current church members. Equipping them for multiple ministries including leadership recruitment, mission and outreach.

• Inviting and inspiring leaders who will encourage, support and hold disciples accountable in their walk with Christ.

• Disciples engaged in mission and outreach

• Gifted, equipped and empowered leadership

• Effective, equipped and inspired Mentors for leadership

• Set goals to reach the vision and mission of increasing Life Groups to over 110 within 6 months, based upon 5 measurable indicators:

o Disciples in Life Groups (Average Attendance)

o Disciples moving into leadership roles (Number of new leaders starting a Life Group)

o Disciples making new Disciples (Members of Life Groups inviting from their spheres of influence and retaining these invitees)

o Disciples growing in their faith (Number of Life Groups = Groups that meet regularly to support, encourage and hold one another accountable in their Christian relationship outside of Life Group.)

o Disciples engaged in mission (Number of Disciples doing outreach in the community and in the world.)

• Praying for God’s involvement in this mission of discipleship.

• The Life Groups Project is designed to equip and multiply leaders and to multiply Life Groups.

• Campus Pastors must be in one accord with regards to implementing the policies and procedures and must be held accountable for goal setting and the weight of success.

• Contact and gather current Life Group leaders that have a calling for mentorship and invite them to share in this vision.

• Ask current Life Group Leaders and other teams who they would recommend in their groups for a Life Group Leadership role.

• Schedule bi-weekly planning with mentors and current/new leaders.

• Commence a month long leadership campaign asking church members to answer their calling to “Go and make Disciples.” Share the vision with all members; make them aware of how critical it is to be in a Life Group and encourage them to invite everyone.

• The church.tv/ life groups website will be available to campus and main campus staff and will provide a great resource for meetings and conferences.

• The Call to Action – We are called to grow our Life Groups and to address our adaptive spiritual challenges. Supporting these callings will require experiments, new discoveries, and adjustments to the current process.

• Setting Goals – This tab will provide a campus with goal setting resources, including:• a planning guide, • information on goal setting, • why these goals are critical to vitality, • past statistics on goal areas for each Life Group, • a chart for campuses to input their goals, and • a site for the main campus staff to track the completion of campus goals

and to compare these goals to campus track records.• Between July 2016 to December 2017, the Life Groups/Life Missions staff will

work with all campuses in reporting, using resources, sharing resources and developing resources to help Life Groups equip leaders and increase Life Groups.o Each year, campuses can evaluate their goals, celebrate their successes

and re-adjust goals as needed.
