Our Rides feature plenty of incredible mountain biking, but they go well beyond that. Each Ride is guided by local guides that live, work and play in the areas where they guide; they’ll show you secret, out-of-the-way places, introduce you to locals and the local way of life, show you the history and culture of the region, and give you opportunities to give back to the areas where you’ll ride. It’s what makes an ordinary ride a ‘sacred’ ride.

From the moment I first threw a foot over a bike, I knew I was hooked. Discovering mountain biking only deepened the addiction even more. Sacred Rides was founded on the belief that mountain biking can make a difference in people’s lives: our Riders, our guides, and the people in the communities we visit.

In 2009, National Geographic Adventure Magazine ranked us the #1 mountain bike tour company on Earth. That’s just one of dozens of awards we’ve garnered over the years for our innovative approach to meaningful mountain bike tourism. In 2011, we’re celebrating 15 years of guiding people from around the world on the planet’s best mountain bike adventures. This year we’re excited to launch our new ‘Explorer’ line of Rides, designed with beginner mountain bikers in mind.

From opening us up to the sanctity of our mountains, forests and rivers, to experiencing another culture from the seat of one’s steed, to making direct contributions to local community projects, mountain biking has the ability to change lives. I know this because it’s changed mine.

What kind of people ride with us? Our riders come from all over the planet, from different backgrounds, cultures, and histories. They share one thing in common: a passion for mountain biking and a desire to contribute to meaningful travel that makes a positive difference in people’s lives. Although we’ve had Riders as young as 14 and as old as 63, most are late 20s to late 40s.

We don’t cater to cliff-dropping adrenaline junkies, nor luxury travellers whose idea of adventure is trying regular mustard instead of dijon. Our Rides feature lots of spectacular singletrack riding, and offer a significant challenge component, but they are designed so that someone with a few years of mountain bike experience and a good level of fitness can have an inspiring and meaningful travel experience.

Our new Explorer line of trips is designed with adventurous travelers in mind who may not have much experience on a mountain bike but want to experience a Sacred Ride and have a meaningful travel experience and experience the world’s spectacular places and fascinating cultures from the seat of a bike.

ChileRESERVATIONS AND PAYMENTDeposits - A deposit of 20% is required at time of booking, and can be made over the phone or online. The deposit may be paid by wire transfer, cheque, money order, Paypal or major credit card. For any booking within 60 days of departure full payment is required.Final Payments - Balances are due 60 days prior to trip departure.

TRAVEL INSURANCEAll travelers must have valid travel medical insurance in ef-fect, providing evacuation and medical coverage while on their trip. Sacred Rides requires proof of coverage prior to embarkation. Sacred Rides will not be held responsible for delays due to force majeure. And additional costs accrued will be the responsibility of the traveller.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDSAll requests for cancellations must be received in writing. Cancellations received 60 days or more prior to departure are refunded less a $500 administrative charge per person, or $200 transfer fee for transfer to another trip. If cancella-tion is received between 45 and 60 days prior to departure, there is a $750 cancellation fee per person, or $300 transfer fee for transfer to another trip. If a cancellation is received with less than 45 days notice prior to departure, the full trip price is forfeited.

CANCELLATIONS BY SACRED RIDESOnce you have received a confirmed reservation from us, we make every effort for that trip to go forward. However, we must reserve the right to cancel any trip. Should we cancel a trip on which you have a confirmed reservation, we will not only refund all monies paid by you, but we will also give you a $400 credit good for any Sacred Rides Mountain Bike Holidays trip during the same or following season. Please note that once trips are scheduled, cancella-tions by us are extremely rare.

WAIVERS AND MEDICAL FORMSLinks to downloadable waivers and medical forms will be sent to booked travellers via email link once the deposit has been received. Travelers must review and complete the forms and bring them with them to their trip starting point. Medical forms must be filled out in full, honestly and accurately, and disclose all medical history and infor-mation. Sacred Rides will review the information submit-ted and reserves the right to ask for further information, clarity on information, or documentation.

ITINERARYThe itinerary described is subject to change at the discre-tion of the lead guide. Sacred Rides reserves the right to change the itinerary due to weather conditions, trail condi-tions, availability of support services, political conditions or other factors beyond its control, without consulting the travelers. It is understood that such decisions will be made in the best interests of all travellers and with regard to the safety of the group. Travellers have no right to any refund or any other considerations in the event of these itinerary changes.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISKYou understand and acknowledge that your travel in con-nection with and participation in the tour arranged at your request by Sacred Rides may involve risk and potential exposure to injury. You also realize and acknowledge that risk and dangers may be caused by the negligence of the owners, directors, employees, contractors, subcontrac-tors, officers or agents of Sacred Rides or the negligence or participation of other participants. You also recognize and acknowledge that risk and dangers may arise from fore-seeable and unforeseeable causes, including weather and other acts of nature. You fully understand and acknowl-edge that the aforementioned risks, dangers and hazards are a potential in connection with recreational activities which may take place during your journey.

USE OF LIKENESSTravellers extend Sacred Rides permission to take their photograph during their trip, and release all rights over those images, understand and consent that Sacred Rides may use any likeness taken of you and any of your com-ments while on your tour for future publicity and pro-motional material. Travelers who do not wish to be pho-tographed during their trip must inform Sacred Rides in writing prior to their trip.
