Life Applications from Foreign Nationals Summary of Wawanesa Life Rules The following rules apply to life insurance applications – Critical Illness will not be offered until the applicant has landed immigrant status. Temporary Insurance Coverage is not available. Nannies/Care Givers/Skilled Workers (with work permit): We will consider this category of workers for standard coverage only with maximum $250,000 life (term or permanent) based on the following: Immediate family members will be considered on individual basis. Applicant is responsible for obtaining and providing full documented medical history prior to entering Canada when the history is significant. If there is limited ability to speak English, the coverage must be applied for on the basis of a quick application, with teleinterview, vitals and blood with hepatitis screen. A paramedical and blood profile (including hepatitis screen) are required if resident in Canada for less than 12 months. Applicant has immigrated to Canada from a country that is listed in the RGA manual as a Class A, B or C. Applicants from a Class D category country* will not be accepted until they have landed immigrant status. Applicant must be fully employed. Applicant has a work permit (copy must be submitted with the application). Applicant must have been in Canada for at least 3 months and have a social insurance number. There is no third party ownership.

• Same rules as for nannies/caregivers/skilled workers.

RefugeesWe will consider this category on an individual basis after the applicant has been in Canada for 24 months.
