Sec on 1 – Classifica ons The Four-to-Six Month Beginner Puppy Compe on shall be for dogs that are four months of age and over but under six months on the day of the event. Classes will be offered for breeds and varie es and divided into Groups as described in Chapter 3, Sec on 1 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows and Miscellaneous Class breeds as listed in Chapter 3, Sec on 23. The Miscellaneous Class Compe on will be the equivalent of Group compe on and the winner will be eligible to compete in Best Four-to-Six Month Begin-ner Puppy in Show. Sec on 2 – Entry and Eligibility Entry and Eligibility Requirements include: • The Four-to-Six Month Beginner Puppy Event may be offered at licensed

or member dog shows at the op on of the show giving club. • Four-to-Six Month Beginner Puppy Compe on must be listed in the

Premium List, entry form and judging schedule, if offered. • AKC Registra on Number or an AKC Li er Number will be required for

all entries of an AKC recognized breed as listed in Chapter 3, Sec on1 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows.

• A foreign-born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the Country of Origin.

• All entrants are to be vaccinated (including Rabies) in accordance with their Veterinarian’s protocol.

• FSS number or FSS registered li er number will be required for Miscella-neous and FSS Breed entries.

• Dogs that are owned or co-owned by a Professional Handler may com-pete in this class, but must be handled by the Non-Professional Handler. Professional Handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a Professional Handlers’ Organiza on, distributed rate cares, or otherwise adver sed or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last five years. Dogs may not be exhibited by current Assistants and Household Members of a Professional Handler.

is geared toward children 5 to under 9 years of age at all shows offering Pee Wee.

Each Pee Wee unit consists of the child, his/her parent/guardian/responsible adult, and the dog. Only one Pee Wee unit is in the ring at a me. This is not a compe ve class, but rather a fun, learning experience for the child and the adult.

The safety of both the dogs and Juniors inside and outside the ring is a primary concern. Outside of the ring, the dog is to be controlled by the adult accompanying the child. An addi onal lead, provided by the Club, will be at the Judge’s table. At the Judge’s dis-cre on based upon the size of the child and the dog, for safety purposes the adult may be asked to a ach a second lead to the dog so both child and adult will walk the dog together.

Although the word “judge” will be used, this is designed to be a learning and mentoring experience—no Junior will be “judged” but rather will be mentored with the age- ap-propriate amount of informa on to help prepare them for what they will be expected to know about AKC regular Junior Showmanship once they reach 9 years of age. The children will be mentored one child, their adult, and dog in the ring at a me. Each child will receive a par cipa on ribbon & Toy to commemorate the experience!

The Judge should explain the process of showing the dog to the Junior and the re-sponsible adult in the ring including breed specific presenta on. Depending on the size of the dog and the child, the adult may be asked to li a table breed on or off the table, or the Club may mandate that the adult should do it regardless. Neither the youngster nor the adult should be asked to show the bite.

• A dog must be at least four months of age to enter the Pee Wee class. • Bitches in season will not be allowed to par cipate. If pre-entered, a dog

may be subs tuted that meets the eligibility requirements as specified by the club.

• All dogs entered must have the proper lead and collar. • A responsible adult must be present with the child both inside and outside

the ring. The adult is to maintain control of the dog outside of the ring. • At an All-Breed event, all AKC fully recognized and Miscellaneous Class

breeds are allowed to enter, including dogs with a PAL lis ng. • In addi on to an entry, a release must be signed by the child’s parent or

legal guardian. Release forms will be available at the show.


COVID-19 EVENT PROCEDURES (COVID-19 Hold Harmless Waiver - con nued)

Note: All individuals within your group are required to sign the COVID-19 Hold Harmless Waiver. If you are ill, feel unwell, coughing, fever or been exposed to anyone with a diagnosis of COVID-19 within the last two (2) weeks prior to the Show, please stay home. Once you hand in your Covid-19 Hold Harmless Waiver, you will receive a wristband.

Event Procedures

1. COVID-19 Waiver Forms are to be handed in at the MGCKC Club Table. 2. Please have your Waiver form completed and signed. If you forget your form,

we will have blank forms available. Every person must individually hand in their Waiver form. If you have a minor with you, they must sign the form as well. (Excep on: Children 5 and under will require the Parent/Guardian/Handler signature ONLY.)

3. Basic ques ons of COVID-19 protocol may be asked. 4. Prac ce social distancing consistent with guidelines in effect at the me of the

event. Avoid congrega ng to the extent possible. Mississippi Gulf Coast Kennel Club will follow the current COVID guidelines set by the State of Mississippi Guidelines at the me of the Biloxi Beach Classic. Should there be any changes in these COVID-19 Guidelines, Exhibitors will be no fied accordingly. Mask requirements, within the ring during judging, will be le to the discre on of each Judge. RVs WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARK IN THE LOADING DOCK PARKING AREA behind the Conven on Center/Coliseum (back gate). RV PARKING WILL ONLY BE ALLOWED IN LOT 4 located behind the Mississippi Coast Coliseum/Conven on Center Parking Garage on a First Come, First Serve basis. DRY CAMPING ONLY – No Hook-ups. RVs WILL NOT be allowed to park in Lot 2 or Lot 3 of the MS Coast Coliseum/ Conven on Center at any me during the Biloxi Beach Cluster. There will be no charge for RV parking at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum/Conven on Center. However, you may be charged a $5.00 parking fee if you arrive during Show hours.

There will be a $5.00 per day Parking Fee charged. Handicap Parking is available. Proper identification must be displayed. Box Trucks/Vans will be allowed to park in the Loading Dock area during Show Hours ONLY. These vehicles must be removed daily. No overnight parking is permitted.

EX-PEN INFORMATION

Private Ex-Pens will be allowed on the Loading Dock area and RV parking (Lot 4) ONLY. Ex-Pens WILL BE ALLOWED in the Reserved Grooming Area ONLY. All Ex-Pens in the Reserved Grooming Ar-ea must have plastic under them with shavings used. You may use plastic and shavings in the Ex-pens which MUST be maintained daily. Plastic and shavings are your responsibility; neither will be provided by MGCKC. Ex-Pens are ‘NOT ALLOWED’ in Public Parking – Lots 2 & 3 - at any time during the Biloxi Beach Classic weekend.

JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION Novice Junior 9 & under 12 yrs • Open Junior 9 & under 12 yrs

Novice Intermediate 12 & under 15 yrs • Open Intermediate 12 & under 15 yrs Novice Senior 15 & under 18 yrs • Open Senior 15 & under 18 yrs

Master Class Novice Class - shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class. A first place in Novice without competition leading to a Best Junior award with competition would count as one win towards moving to Open at a licensed or member show. Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition, if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open, after the closing of entries for a show are required to transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class by notifying the Superintendent or Show Secretary prior to the judging of the class at the show. Open Class - shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who have won three (3) first place awards in a Novice Class or if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open in a licensed or member show. Master Class - will be for boys & girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won 10 Best Junior wins with competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and must change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year. No entry may be changed or cancelled unless notice of the change or cancellation is received in writing by the Superintendent or Show Secretary named in the premium list to receive entries, prior to the closing date and hour for entries, except that a correction may be made from one age division to another, as well as, move from Master to Open or Open to Novice if a win has been disallowed or the Junior miscalculated number of placements, provided this transfer is made by the Superintendent or Show Secretary prior to the judging of the class at the show. NOTICE: Junior Handlers must include their AKC JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each entry. You may obtain your junior identification number by calling the AKC, Judges Education Department (919) 233-9767.

USE OF RAMPS A judge requesting the use of a ramp must give notice to the show superintendent/show secretary prior to judging. AKC approval is not required. The entire entry in a breed is to be examined in the same manner (ground, table, or ramp). At the discretion of the judge, the following breeds may be judged on the ground or on a ramp through all levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging: Lagotto Romagnolo, Retrievers (Nova Scotia Duck Tolling, Spaniels (American Water), Spaniels (English Springer), Spaniels (Field), Spaniels (Welsh Springer), Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen, Standard Schnauzers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Irish Terriers, Kerry Blue Terrier, Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Finnish Spitz, Entlebucher Mountain Dog, Finnish Lapphund, Icelandic Sheepdogs, Norwegian Buhund, Polish Lowland Sheepdogs, Spanish Water Dogs, Norrbottenspets (Misc). At the discretion of the judge through all levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging, the following breeds may be judged on the ground, a ramp, or on a table: Spaniels (Boykin), Whippets and Miniature Bull Terriers. At the discretion of the judge through all levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging, the following breeds may be judged on the a ramp, or on a table: Mudi (Misc). The following breeds must be judged on a ramp through all levels of conformation competition: Spaniels (Clumber), Spaniels (Sussex), Basset Hounds, Cirneco dell'Etna, Bulldogs, Chinese Shar-Pei, Chow Chows, and Keeshonden. This extends to all conformation competition at AKC conformation dog shows and any AKC event where a conformation title may be earned. This policy includes Group, BIS, Junior Showmanship, the 4– 6 Month Beginner Puppy Competition, the AKC National Owner-Handled Series (NOHS), and all other special attractions that offer Group and BIS competitions. Ramps can be used in emergency situations to judge any breed. In emergency situations where use of a ramp is not indicated in the premium list, an exhibitor has the option of withdrawing their entry and receiving a refund. Miscellaneous Breeds There will be Puppy, Bred By Exhibitor, & Open Classes for each of the Miscellaneous Breeds in each sex.

Winners from these classes will compete for Best of Breed & Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed in each breed. Each Miscellaneous Best of Breed winner shall be eligible to compete for Best in Miscellane-ous Class. All entries for Best in Miscellaneous Class shall be made after judging of the individual Miscel-laneous breed classes. In the event that the owner of a dog designated Best of Breed shall not exhibit the dog in the Best of Miscellaneous Class Competition, no other dog of the same breed shall be allowed to compete. There shall be no further competition for dogs entered in the Miscellaneous Class. Ribbons shall conform to Chapter 5, Section 2 of AKC Rules.

CANADIAN EXHIBITORS MUST SUBMIT ENTRIES WITH CHECKS DRAWN ON U.S. ACCOUNTS OR WITH INTER-NATIONAL MONEY ORDERS IN U.S. FUNDS.

A Recording Fee of 50 cents for each dog and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00 will be required for each recordable single entry class at any Licensed or Member Club Show or Obedience Trial. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2). A $3.50 AKC Recording Fee will be required for the first entry in Rally and $3.00 for each additional entry in Rally. (American Kennel Club Rally Regulation, Chapter 1, Section 5). A $2.00 Event Service Fee will be required for each entry in 4-6 Month Beginner Puppy. $2.00 Event Service Fee will be required for each entry in FSS Open Shows. These Fees are paid to the American Kennel Club.

RETURNED CHECKS / INVALID CREDIT CARDS do not constitute a valid entry. The Superintendent will add a collection fee of $25 to the amount of each returned check and credit card. Subsequent returned checks and credit card from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a cash-only basis. Entry Fee will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or judge, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee.

No entry fees will be refunded if the Show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturb-ances, fire, extreme and or dangerous weather conditions, an Act of God, public emergency, act of public enemy, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of the Club or the Superintendent.

No Refund for Duplicate Entries. Every effort to find all duplicate entries will be made; however, if entry has been processed, no refund will be made.

Refunds made for cancellation of entries before the closing date will be subject to a $3.00 administrative/processing fee per entry.

No Entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance. Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing prior to close of entries. Those received by telephone are not acceptable.

Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor the Superintendent will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up the class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings.

Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian’s recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations.

The show giving club, the Superintendent, their agents, employees, etc., assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by exhibitors or handlers to any of their dogs or property, and further assume no responsibility for injury to children. PUBLICATION RIGHTS By entering this show, all owners, handlers, breeders and kennels agree that all rights to televise, videotape, photograph, advertise, promote and publicize or otherwise exploit this show, or the persons or animals participating in it or the results of the competition before, during or after the event, shall belong solely to The American Kennel Club and their respective assigns, including the use of the names, likenesses or biographical matter of all dogs, owners, handlers, breeders and kennels participating in the show and no such owner, handler, breeder or kennel shall allow any other party to make commercial use of any videotape or photograph of any person or animal participating in this competition.

AGREEMENT I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog. INSTRUCTIONS 1. (Variety) if you are entering a dog of breed in which there are varie es for show purposes, please designate the par c-ular variety you are entering, i.e., Cocker Spaniel (solid color black, ASCOB, par -color), Beagles (not exceeding 13 in., over 13 in. but not exceeding 15 in.), Dachshunds (longhaired, smooth, wirehaired), Collies (rough, smooth), Bull Terriers (colored, white), Manchester Terriers (standard, toy), Chihuahuas (smooth coat, long coat), English Toy Spaniels (King Charles and Ruby, Blenheim and Prince Charles), Poodles (toy, miniature, standard). 2. The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed compe on: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which, according to their owners’ records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed compe on is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship. 3. (Event Class) Consult the classifica on in this premium list. If the event class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addi on to designa ng the class, specify the par cular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e., age division, color division, weight division. 4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the me entries for an event closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any event for which entries closed a er the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registra on cer fi-cate indica ng that the dog is recorded in his name. State on entry form whether transfer applica on has been mailed to the AKC. (For complete rules, refer to Chapter 11, Sec on 3.) 5. Mixed Breed dogs entering classes for Agility, Obedience. and Rally trials should mark Breed as AKC Canine Partners Listed Dog “All American Dog/Mixed Breed.” Variety, Breeder, Sire, Dam informa on shall remain blank for mixed breed entrants.
