In addition to its size, one of the main features of a crane cabin is the quality of the view it provides. Even from the outside it is obvious that the LiCAB® has been completely redeveloped with special attention being given to improving

visibility. That enables the crane operator to have a perfect view of the site at all times, enhancing the safety of personnel and the machine.

Full-length glass surfaces on all sides with narrow struts and no frame.

Clear view to the front and downwards – safety glaz-ing rather than annoying struts to prevent falling out.

The top third of the side windows is also tinted to en-sure an unrestricted view and a pleasant temperature.

More comfort and more space

With a floor area of 2.35 m2, the LiCAB® has more space than any previous Flat-Top crane cabins. A well-designed, tidy interior design, the individually adjustable control stand and various other features make the cabin into a second home.

Size and designNot just larger but also with a smart design. In addition to precise compartments for the instruction manual, for exam-ple, the crane operator has several storage trays to keep his workplace tidy. There is a drink holder and plenty of plug sockets and USB charging ports for various devices within easy reach for the crane operator.

Individually adjustable control standThe crane operator’s workplace must provide adequate comfort to enable him to concentrate on his work for a full day. The control stand can be tilted, moved or the armrests can be adjusted ergonomically to suit the individual needs of every crane operator.

Smart control system

The various controlsA good overview in the cabin not only depends on a large field of vision but also on logical, simple operation. The crane is controlled using control levers, whilst there are robust membrane keys in easy reach for the cabin settings (for example the heating and air conditioning system and window wipers).

All the settings are coordinated using the central mul-ti-touch display. This is used for both the comfort settings, such as adjusting the heating or window wipers, and for actually controlling the crane. Everything is networked which means that every control displays the same informa-tion at the same time.

The new tower crane operating system has been enhanced above all to make it more user-friendly. Fewer taps with the fingers are necessary to reach the required adjustment. The menu bar is visible at all times to enable the operator to find what he needs quickly. Expensive training and induction times are signifi-cantly reduced as a result of the simple control interface.

UPDATING ...

CameraThe Liebherr trolley camera system can be added to the new display using a video input. Once it has been con-nected, the content of the 12" display is split into two halves – the crane data display at the top and the trolley cam-era image at the bottom. Manual zooming is a thing of the past – the camera zoom automatically adjusts to the hook level without the operator having to do anything.

This saves having to buy a second display and helps the crane operator to work in comfort and with perfect focus.

Over-the-air updateUpdates take place over the air to ensure that you remain up to date at all times and can work with the latest TC-OS control functions. That means that when an update is dis-played, the crane operator or erection engineer can choose the installation time to suit them and only has to tap the dis-play to start the update process. The update is not activat-ed until the complete package has been downloaded. If the connection is lost, the crane will continue to operate reliably using the previous TC-OS version without any restrictions.

Operating-range limiting systemThe adjustment of the operating-range limiting system is supported graphically by the TC-OS. The limiting shape to be taught is drawn and displayed in real time. The crane operator can adjust the map alignment as he wishes, sim-ilar to a vehicle navigation system. That means that either the crane or the environment moves in the display.

Scaling assistantThe scaling process is one of the most important steps in a safe commissioning procedure for a crane. The newly developed scaling assistant provides the service technician with predefined masks and selected possible inputs for this purpose. The control system automatically adopts the correct load diagram and settings. At the same time a logic check of the settings is carried out in the background.

Scaling is significantly easier with the scaling assistant and safer than previously, even in difficult conditions.

For a pleasant cabin atmosphere

Anybody who has worked in uncomfortable climatic con-ditions knows how important a pleasant atmosphere is to be able to work effectively. The LiCAB® has an extensive, revised ventilation concept. A total of ten adjustable vents, both under the control stand and also on the ceiling, deliver individual regulation of the warm and cold air streams.

The heating and air conditioning unit and the ventilation concept enable the required working temperature to be reached quickly and maintained – by either air conditioning or heating.

The right one for everybody

The LiCAB® is available in three different equipment versions. Even the Basic version includes a range of comfort features and ergonomic improvements. We can supply the perfect version for any climate zone, be it hot or cold. Our LiCAB® Air and the LiCAB® AirPlus feature a new air conditioning concept. The LiCAB® for luffing jib cranes is also available in the three versions with an addi-tional skylight.
