UKNARIC2020 dates and venue confirmed Delegates from 34 countries and territories were represented at the UKNARIC19 annual conference in London on 4 and 5 November, making our 23rd annual conference the most international yet. The conference took place at the QEII Centre in Westminster. We can announce we are returning to the QEII Centre next year, on 3 and 4 November, for UKNARIC2020. You can email [email protected] to pre- register and reserve your place. UK NARIC CEO Dr Cloud Bai-Yun, in her conference opening address, stressed how important it is to balance risks in international strategies and operations during these turbulent times. This idea was explored further by keynote speaker Bill Hayton, author of Vietnam: Rising Dragon, and The South China Sea: the Struggle for Power in Asia; and READ MORE ETS TOEFL enhancements give additional information on test performance ETS has made a number of innovations to their TOEFL® test throughout 2019. These enhancements will benefit test takers, and also give more detailed information on test performance to universities and colleges. One of the new enhancements is MyBest scores. This allows institutions to see applicants’ best section scores when they take the TOEFL test more than once. Many institutions are acknowledging the value of seeing applicants’ best test performance when evaluating their English proficiency. ‘Having both sets of scores will allow universities to see not only how test-takers performed on a single date, but to gauge their potential by viewing their previous high scores READ MORE Last training dates of the year, upcoming in London The last UK NARIC training dates of the year are upcoming in December. There are limited places left for these training and seminar events in London. Education in India, Pakistan & Bangladesh is on 3 December as well as Education in China; Evaluating International Qualifications and Degrees of Deception - Combating Education Fraud are both on 4 December. Adjoining days make it convenient and efficient to attend more than one of these complementary events as part of one trip. READ MORE UK NARIC on the road for Train to Teach - supporting aspiring teachers UK NARIC regularly attends Train to Teach events which are held all over the UK - most recently in Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham and London. These events are attended by the DfE, teacher training advisers and teaching advocates. They have enabled UK NARIC to give face-to-face advice to those with international qualifications who are exploring a career in teaching in the UK. UK NARIC can support applicants at these events by offering verbal comparisons of academic awards and giving advice on the documents we will require to provide formal assessments of their qualifications.
