Back in August 2015, the library received news that we, together with numerous

community partners and sponsors, were again the recipients of a generous grant

to host another series of Big Read events— this time surrounding the works of

Edgar Allan Poe. The Big Read, which is managed by Midwest Arts, is a One Book,

One Community program of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA).

After a successful project launch event in October 2015, it’s almost time to start

the fun! The big kickoff takes place on Saturday, February 6th from 2—4 PM at

Henry Ford Centennial Library. A quartet of Dearborn Symphony Orchestra

musicians will perform music from Poe’s day; Tony Lucas of The Henry Ford will

perform “The Tell-Tale Heart” and free books and tabloids will be available. There

will be activities for adults and kids of all ages, so join the fun!

Check out page 2 of this newsletter for a list of events in February, or visit

www.bigreaddearborn.org for a full schedule and more information.
