lIBERTY URBAN lVT Fitting prescriptions

The installation has to be done according to the prescriptions of the NF DTU 53.2 Standard. The floor must be flat, smooth, dry and sound. The product used for repair or renovation should have class P3 and the floor temperature ≥ 15°C.

1 - Installation:

LIBERTY URBAN must be stored 48 hours before installation:- in a closed room with normal relative humidity,- with at an ambient temperature of 15 °C,- on a flat surface.

2 - Storage of the tiles and planks:

A simple emulsion application is realised with:

a fine-dented spatula 150 to 200 g/m2, type A4. Change the spatula as frequently as needed in accordance with this pre-scription.

Application recommendations: - To follow scrupulously the prescriptions of the supplier. - Respect the gum/impregnation time depending on the tem-

perature, humidity, the porosity and the consumption of glue.

- Wait till the preparation product is translucent to fit the tiles and planks.

3 - Adhesives* :

* refer to the technical data from the supplier.

LIBERTY URBAN floors are PU surface protected for: - easy cleaning,- removal of products left on the surface, which may have been used for installation,A proper maintenance program protects the floor from wear and helps to maintain it’s appearance. We recommend for following the normal maintenance procedures according to the traffic in the given areas, and avoiding to blend maintenance products of different brands or compositions in all phases of cleaning operations.

Once fitting is completed, need to respect a minimum of 48 hours drying time. After that, just sweep or vacuum clean the floor off dust. A simple sweeping with a neutral detergent type Jontec Asset from Johnson or PU cleaner from Dr. Schutz to eliminate dirt before use.

Clean with a monobrush at 200 rpm + red disk. (Possible with a brush turning up to 400 rpm, with an appropriate disk for the speed). The detergent is pulverised (spray). No need to rinse, just take some time to dry before the next operation. Flat clean with water, cleaning and/or protecting agent in the correct proportions. Once the surface is dry operate the mono brush with the red disk at a speed of 400 rpm.

If no monobrush is available (apartment buildings, stair cases, small area’s and inaccessible ones) clean manually with a synthetic red or blue sweeping brush and a detergent till all stains are re-moved.

No need to scrape the floor if the workshop has been realised according to the normal standards.

In case a PVC floor is very heavily stained, repair will give it its initial appearance back (recommend-ed repair products: Jontec N°1 from Johnson, Intensive Cleaner R from Dr.Schutz…). A monobrush treatment with 200 rpm or an auto washing device equipped with the red disk would do the job.

1/ Before use

2/ Current maintenanceInitial cleaning: Step 1 : Humid sweeping with trapeze brush + impregnated gauze.Step 2 : Flat wash with cotton cloth for the stained spots.Regular Maintenance: Step 1 : Humid sweeping with trapeze brush + impregnated gauze.Step 2 : Mono brush (≤ 400 rpm) + red disk + neutral spray detergent. Step 3 : Flat wash with cotton cloth.Step 4 : Polish with mono brush (≤ 400 rpm) + beige or white disk, after drying.Periodic cleaning:Step 1 : Humid sweeping with trapeze brush + impregnated gauze.Step 2 : Spread well the detergent solution and let it penetrate a couple of minutes.

Monobrush (≤ 150 à 200 rpm) with red disk. Vacuum clean and rinse with always clean water. Dry.

Step 3 : Flat wash with cotton cloth.Step 4 : Polish with monobrush (≤ 400 rpm) + beige or white disk.We recommend a systematic maintenance program for the high-traffic areas. Other maintenance methods, similar to the ones described above, can also be used. The frequencies are given for in-formation. They will always adapt depending on traffic and the desired final appearance.

lIBERTY URBAN lVTMaintenance

Like all flexible flooring, LIBERTY URBAN LVT must be protected against indentation of furniture, sharp objects and other heavy objects. The use of leather, plastic or felt are recommended (no rubber or metal plates). The entrance areas need to be protected by walk-off mats, which are sufficiently large.Efficient walk-off protection zones are composed of the following elements: - a grid with feet scraper to eliminate stones etc, - a synthetic rug to take all the dirt and dust, - a textile rug to take away all humidity. The ideal length would be, for the three, 7 to 8 m, for areas of high traffic (to be sure that all dirt is eliminated from the shoes).

4/ Protection

We remind that some products are forbidden: - Pure bleaching agents (possible if diluted at 10 %).- Strong solvents (like acetone…).- Glazing products and varnish (not to confuse with repair emulsions). These products can cause permanent discolorations of LIBERTY URBAN LVT. Never use aggressive disks during regular maintenance (like the black, brown or green ones).

3/ Practical recommendations

B/ Marking:Mark the departure lines.

C/ Application of the tiles:

• Apply the first row following a line perpendicular to the door.

• Link the following row of tiles to the first.

Attention! Check the products for vis-ible defects prior the installation. Don’t install faulty planks or tiles. If any dif-ferences in aspect occur, contact your supplier before starting or continuing the work to find an agreement of how to proceed.

The installation must be done with a temperature of minimum 15 °C, same for the underfloor.

Installation principle:- Divide the floor surface in 2 parts

with a line perpendicular to the en-tree of the room.

- Put the first plank then to continue following the line.

- Install the planks following the ar-rows on the back.

- The first plank of the second row must be placed at 1/3 of the length in the lateral direction to bring the joints of the 3 rows in line. This is a better solution compared to the one that shifts by half a plank because less aesthetic.

- Other installation possibilities: her-ringbone and specific ones…

5 - Fitting the planks:

This is a compulsory operation to be done twice: - Manually with a buttress or strut.- With a heavy roller to pass on the to-

tal surface of the floor at the end of the installation, to evenly spread the glue under the tiles/planks.

6 - Spreading the glue:

- For normal walking traffic: after 24 hours.

- Installation of furniture etc: after 48 hours.

- No rubber caps of wheels.- In case of floor heating: start the

heating progressively.

7 - Putting into use / Circulation:
