Developers do not have to cope with programming the nodes, they just have to specify the values of some parameters in the firmware.

Remote Management: bidirectional communication allows us to change from the Cloud parameters of the nodes such as: The working cycle (frecuency), including night mode. The "keep-alive" cycle, for improving the perfomance. Adjustable car detection threshold. A timestamp, for setting the internal clock of the node with maximum accuracy. A command for performing "reset", useful for maintenance tasks.

The device is installed on the road surface. No need to dig a hole in the ground for installation. So the system is fast, easy and cheap to install.

The total volume of the device has been reduced to 50%.

New sensor system, now featuring higher accuracy and reliability, faster time of detection and no-dependence from temperature (no-need for temperature calibration).

All the system has been optimized for really low-power operation, so the battery lifetime is extended up to 10 years.

Lower power consumption

Sigfox / LoRaWAN are LPWAN technologies that enable long range and low power consumption.

Both radios can be for the the 868 MHz (Europe) or for the 900-930 MHz band (US / Canada).

Also, the backbone network does not need to be really populated, because one base station can give service to thousands of devices around a range of several km in urban environment.

This leads to lower costs of installation, since the number of basestations is dramatically reduced.
