Certification information(SAR)THIS DEVICE MEETS INTERNATIONALGUIDELINES FOR EXPOSURE TORADIO WAVES

Your mobile device is a radio transmitterand receiver. It is designed andmanufactured not to exceed the limits forexposure to radio frequency (RF)recommended by international guidelines(ICNIRP). These limits are part ofcomprehensive guidelines and establishpermitted levels of RF energy for thegeneral population. The guidelines weredeveloped by independent scientificorganizations through periodic andthorough evaluation of scientific studies. The guidelines include a substantial safetymargin designed to assure the safety of allpersons, regardless of age and health.

The exposure standard for mobile devicesemploys a unit of measurement known asthe Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. TheSAR limit stated in the internationalguidelines is 2.0 W/kg*. Tests for SAR areconducted using standard operating

positions with the device transmitting atits highest certified power level in alltested frequency bands. Although the SARis determined at the highest certifiedpower level, the actual SAR of the devicewhile operating can be well below themaximum value. This is because the deviceis designed to operate at multiple powerlevels so as to use only the power requiredto reach the network. In general, the closeryou are to a base station, the lower thepower output of the device. Before aphone model is available for sale to thepublic, compliance with the EuropeanR&TTE directive must be shown. Thisdirective includes as one essentialrequirement the protection of the healthand the safety for the user and any otherperson. The highest SAR value for thisdevice when tested for use at the ear is0.486 W/kg.

This device meets RF exposure guidelineswhen used either in the normal useposition against the ear or whenpositioned at least 1.5 cm away from thebody. When a carry case, belt clip orholder is used for body-worn operation, itshould not contain metal and shouldposition the product at least 1.5 cm awayfrom your body. In order to transmit datafiles or messages, this device requires aquality connection to the network. In some

cases, transmission of data files ormessages may be delayed until such aconnection is available. Ensure the aboveseparation distance instructions arefollowed until the transmission iscompleted. The highest SAR value for thisdevice when tested for use at the body is1.51 W/kg.

* The SAR limit for mobile devices used bythe public is 2.0 watts/kilogram (W/kg)averaged over ten grams of body tissue. The guidelines incorporate a substantialmargin of safety to give additionalprotection for the public and to accountfor any variations in measurements. SARvalues may vary depending on nationalreporting requirements and the networkband.
