NSE Futures

• NSE Futures :- Futures means contract available for trades in

index and stocks

• In NSE futures lot size available to trade , in lot size number of 

shares decided by exchange.

• In futures investor need to give margin ie some % of 

investment amount decided by exchange.

• Three months contracts are available to trade.

• On every month’s last Thursday expiry of contract done by

holder or exchange by default .

NSE Options

• NSE Options :-In Nse options there is two segments I.e call and

put.

• Call :- One can buy call when market is going up ie. market is

bullish market , people predict that market will go up on that

basis call option can be bought.

• Put :- One can buy put when market is going down ie market is

bearish market , people predict that market will go down on that

basis put can be bought.

• Call and put prices is decided by open interest.

* Open Interest is the total number of outstanding contracts that

are held by market participants at the end of the day.

• Mcx – Future & spot market

• Ncdex - Future & spot market

• NSEL – Spot market

• MCX :- In MCX future and spot market various commodities

are trading like Gold, Silver etc.

• In future market you can buy or sell future contract available

for trade.

• In mcx lot size & margin decided by exchange.

• Mainly in mcx bullions and metals are most active trades.

• NSEL is a national spot exchange ltd. Where you can buy e-gold, e-silver

etc. commodities• Since large number of investors from all across the country would be

available at NSEL platform, they can realize better price for their product.

• Transparency in transaction and settlement.

• Platform for minimum investment in gold and silver.

•Risk free  – gold and silver kept with demat.

• Any time encashment  – Sell it or take delivery.

• Quality of gold and silver is pure approved by government of India. Inphysical market, they always face the risk of counter party defaults,which will be totally guaranteed on National Spot Exchange platform. Asettlement guarantee fund would be maintained for this purpose.

Mutual Funds

• A Mutual Fund is a body corporate registered with the Securities

and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) that pools up the money frominvestors and invests the same on behalf of the investors /unitholders, in equity shares, Government securities, Bonds, Callmoney markets etc., and distributes the profits. In other words, amutual fund allows an investor to indirectly take a position in a

basket of assets.

• Mutual fund is diversifies the risk of investors.

• MF are Balance, income , growth,sector funds etc.

• Above funds are available in open ended and close ended

• An open-ended MF there are no limits on the total size of thecorpus.

• Close  – ended MF there are total size of the corpus is limited by the size

of the initial offer• systematic investment plan (SIP) offers 2 major benefits to an investor:

1) It avoids lump sum investment at one point of time

2)In a scenario of falling prices, it reduces your overall cost of acquisition

by a process of rupee-cost averaging.

3) At lower prices end up getting more units for the same investment.

• Certain specific Equity Linked Saving Schemes, tax benefits are available

under Section 88 of the IT Act,if it is tax saving fund then 20% is eligible for

rebate.

• If capital gain is earned and invested in specific Mf then capital gain tax isexempted.

• Infrastructure Bonds:- Investment in bonds gives tax benefit to

the investor.

• Maximum benefit to an investor shall be Rs. 20,000/-- under

section 80CCF.

• The Tax exemption benefit under Sec 80CCF on a sum of Rs.

20,000/- is over and above Rs. 1,00,000/- benefit under section

80C, 80CCC and 80CCD
