To Communicate . . .
The Latin verb communicare means “to make common to many, share, impart, divide.”
Simply stated . . . Communicationis the sharing of meaning by
sendingand receivingsymbolic cues.
4 levels of communication:

Self-talk or thinking and refers to the ways we communicate with ourselves.

meaning through verbal and non-verbal messages.
“inter-” which means among/between.

1) Verbal communication refers to the use of symbols in the form of spoken
words to transmit messages.
2) Non-verbal communication use of symbols other than words to transmit
messages. It includes gestures, body language and how we utter words.

3) Listening skills ability to accurately receive and interpret messages in the communication process.
4) Negotiation working with others to find a mutually agreeable (Win/Win) outcome.
