And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write;

these things saith the Son of God, who hath His

eyes like unto a flame of fire, and His feet are like

fine brass. I know thy works, and charity, and

service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works,

and the last to be more than the first.

Notwithstanding I have a few things against

thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel,

which calleth herself a prophetess to teach and

seduce (beguile) my servants to commit fornication

and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave

her space to repent of her fornication, and she

repenteth not.

Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that

commit adultery with her into great tribulation,

except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her

children with death; and all the churches shall know

that I am He that searcheth the reins and hearts.

And I will give unto every one of you according to

your works. But unto you I say, and unto the rest in

Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and have

not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will

put unto you none other burden.

But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.

And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto

the end, him will I give power over the nations. And

he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of

a potter shall they be broken to shivers even as I

received of my Father. And I will give him the

morning star. He that hath an ear, let him hear what

the Spirit saith unto the churches (Revelation 2:18-

29) KJV

It is beyond our highest imagination regarding the

Glorious form of our LORD and King,

namely Jesus Christ. He is ALL KNOWING,

and knows the works of the Thyatira angel and the

church. Jesus begins by telling the angel about the

good works and how the last is more than the first,

but also speaks of what He has against him.

It appears that a complacent attitude toward a

woman named Jezebel’s abominable doctrine is being

tolerated within the Thyatira church. Jesus

identified the doctrine as one that permits sexual

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches

(Revelation 2:7) KJV

immorality and the eating of things sacrificed unto

idols. Jesus also stated that Jezebel called HERSELF a

prophetess. According to the Holy Scriptures,

anyone who has not stood in the LORD God’s

counsel (Jeremiah 23:18), is a false prophet; meaning,

that the LORD’s prophets are called specifically by

Him, and speaks His Word faithfully (Jeremiah

23:28). They do not speak contrary to His Word,

and His prophets practice His Word.

What else does the LORD God Say?

I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they

prophesied in baal [god], and caused my people Israel

to err. I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem

an horrible thing; they commit adultery, and walk in lies.

They strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that

none doth return from his wickedness. They are all of

them unto me as Sodom and the inhabitants thereof

as Gomorrah.

Therefore thus saith the LORD of Hosts,

concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with

wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall; for

from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone

forth into all the land. Thus saith the LORD of

Hosts, hearken not unto the words of the prophets

that prophesy unto you.

They make you vain. They speak a vision of their own

heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD. They

say continually unto them that despise me,” the

LORD hath said” ye shall have peace, and they

say unto every one that walketh after the

imagination (stubbornness) of his own heart, no evil

shall come upon you. For who hath stood in

the counsel of the LORD, and hath

perceived and heard His Word? Who hath

marked His Word and heard it?

Judgment

Behold a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in

fury, even a grievous whirlwind; it shall fall

grievously upon the head of the wicked. The

anger of the LORD shall not return, until He

have executed, and till He have performed the

thoughts of His heart. In the latter days ye shall

consider it perfectly.

I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran. I have

not spoken to them, yet they prophesied, but if

they had stood in my counsel, and had cause my

people to hear my words, then they should have

turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of

their doings…I have heard what the prophets said,

that prophesy lies in my Name, saying, I have

dreamed, I have dreamed. How long shall this be in

the heart of the prophets that prophecy? Yea,

they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart.

False Prophets

Jeremiah 23:9-40

No Tolerance for False Prophets

Throughout the Holy Scriptures, the LORD

God always sent a warning before judgment. If

Judah had listened to Jeremiah, the Prophet of

the LORD God, and not to false prophets who

told lies, they would never have fallen prey to

Babylonian captivity, which lasted for 70 yrs.

Jeremiah chapter 1

As stated in an earlier Revelation study, what the

LORD God commands, Jesus Christ

commands. In Jeremiah 23, we read how the

LORD God feels about false prophecy; and

false prophecy that steers people away from His

Word. If a prophet teaches that it is good to eat

foods sacrificed to idols and promotes sexual

immorality, we know that kind of teaching is not

from the LORD God.

Jesus Christ is One with His Father, and

adheres to the doctrine of the Kingdom of God,

which is the Kingdom of Heaven. In His letter to

the angel at Thyatira, Jesus stated “I gave her

time to repent of her sexual immorality; and she did

not repent. Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed,

and those who commit adultery with her into great

tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. I will

kill her children with death, and all the churches shall

know that I am He who searches the

minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of

you according to your works (Revelation 2:21-23)

According to Jesus’ letters, it is very evident what

He requires: Repentance, faithful perseverance

and faithful adherence to His Word.

Those who persist in false doctrine, will bring upon

themselves swift destruction (II Peter 2:1-3) also

study II Peter 2:4-11)

Brief Review of Rewards

Ephesus Church: Will eat from the Tree of Life,

which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.

Smyrna Church: Will not be hurt of the second

death (see Revelation 21:8)

Pergamum Church: Will eat of the hidden manna,

and will receive white stone, and in the stone a new

name written, which no man knoweth (see

Revelation 19:12) saving he that receiveth it.

Thyatira Church: Will receive power over the

nations. And he shall rule them with a rod of iron…

(Revelation :27 & Psalm 2:8-9)

For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard His

Word? Who hath marked His Word and heard it? (Jeremiah 23:18) KJV

For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming

of our LORD Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His Majesty. For He received from

God the Father, honor and glory when such a voice came to Him, from the Excellent Glory: This

is My Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And we heard this voice which came from heaven

when we were with Him on the Holy Mountain. And so we have the prophetic word confirmed,

which you do well to take heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the

morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any

private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as

they were moved by the Holy Spirit. (II Peter 16-21) NKJV
