3 February 2016 Recommendation for Ashley Rink I have worked with Ashley Rink for several years as she has served as a tutor in our university Academic Resource Center (ARC). She is an outstanding student academically and a woman of integrity and passion. The ARC is the center of academic support at Viterbo University and where all the tutoring is held. It is a viable place in demand with 95% of students using the services. In order to be a tutor, students are recommended by faculty in that discipline. Such is the case with Ashley. Her faculty/instructors hold her in high regard. She was so fluent in the Spanish language, she was able to tutor multi-level courses, including advanced. Successful tutoring involves preparation prior to sessions, effective communication skills and ability to support a dynamic and interactive session. At the close of each semester, tutees evaluate their tutors. Ashley’s evaluations reflected all the marks of effective sessions. She not only knows the Spanish language and can communicate in it, she comes with an energy that invites engagement. Her personality encourages comfort and acceptance. I have never seen her without a smile and have never seen her lacking energy. Successful tutoring involves the ability to work with varying personalities, varying needs and learning styles. This is reflective of the world of work. Ashley has skills that predict her success in working with individuals from varying backgrounds presenting multiple needs. She shows a compassion for the individual which will ensure success translating and advocating for those whose first language is not English. Ashley has studied abroad, worked with youth and held campus leadership roles. She has a natural ability that allows her to readily and easily connect with others. Her 3.7 grade point average is noteworthy and shows a student dedicated to academics while simultaneously working to support her education and being involved in campus life and activities. She is a busy student who can balance multiple responsibilities and do them all well. These are the traits

Recommendation for Ashley Rink

I have worked with Ashley Rink for several years as she has served as a tutor in our university Academic Resource Center (ARC).

These are the traits we want in the work place: initiative, dedication and responsibility. I have known Ashley for several years and she embodies all of these.

I highly recommend Ashley Rink to you. If you would like further information or would like to speak with me, my contact information is [email protected] or 6087963194.
