Dear Neighbor, My name is Joe Accardi, and I am pleased to announce that I am a candidate for the 2nd Ward Council seat. As a lifelong resident of Roselle Park I have concerns, like you, for our community. It would be an honor to represent you on the Borough Council. My family moved to Roselle Park in the 70’s. We loved the small town feel and sense of community. I am proud of my Roselle Park heritage. After graduating from Roselle Park High School, I attended and graduated from the Military Academy at West Point with a degree in Engineering, followed by a Masters in Administration from Central Michigan University and a Law Degree from Rutgers University. I have worked in management and practiced law. Following my commissioning from the Military Academy, I served on Active Duty with the US Army. Since then, I have been an Active Reservist and in the past few years have completed tours of duty in Iraq and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. My wife Megan and I decided to raise our own family here in Roselle Park. My daughter, Sheila, recently graduated from Rutgers University and our son, Aedan, is in the Roselle Park Middle School. We have been very fortunate in many ways. I have enjoyed serving our community over the years – as a Member and President of the Roselle Park Board of Education, on the Municipal Planning Board, on the Morses Creek Flood Control Commission, as a pro bono Public Defender in the Municipal Court. As a father, husband and homeowner, I share the same concerns as you. If elected, I will represent you with integrity and honesty. We are all part of this community that we call home.
