LETTER FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL

LETTER FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL St. John’s Episcopal School has set the standard for private, high quality education in Abilene for over 65 years—recently celebrating our sapphire anniversary. St. John’s continues to fulfill its founding mission, to provide an enriched academic program that emphasizes the development of each child’s potential within a caring and Christian environment. I first came to know St. John’s as a student and alumnus, then as a multi- termed Trustee, and now as a parent. As a proud parent and current Pres- ident of the Board of Trustees, I continue to serve St. Johns, and champion its capacity for success from many perspectives. My story is like the story of so many other members of this wonderful Board. We share a collective memory of roaming the halls as students, returning to celebrate as alumni and volunteers, enrolling our children, and for some, even grandchildren, grateful for St. John’s tradition of excellence. The current Board of Trustees respect the contributions of those who served before us. As a Board, we are grateful to partner with Rebecca McMillon, her administrative team and an amazing faculty and staff, all of whom give the St. John’s mission life. As Trustees, we have been afforded an opportunity to serve an amazing institution, both in governing the affairs of the School, and as cheerleaders for its success. The Board remains dedicated to the conviction that a financially-stable and future-focused St. John’s Episcopal School provides an essential choice for the children of Abilene. Generosity from so many people and organizations over the years have made possible St. John’s growth and progress. We value personal contribu- tion of time and talent, as well as financial contributions that provide the resources that help St. John’s thrive. With the boom of the electronic age, St. John’s is creating opportunities for online and monthly giving to improve revenue streams, and to develop more active bonds with our donors. The guideposts of the past provide a rich foundation on which to build a flourishing, tech savvy future. The Board of Trustees thanks the Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest, whose vision founded the School, and whose unwavering dedication continues to be a foundational source of strength. We appreciate and cherish the laughter of students, the engagement of their parents and the shared hunger for authentic learning that St. John’s feeds. The current Board of Trustees will continue its commitment to not only preserving the wonderful institution that St. John’s is, but to continue to maximize and grow all that St. John’s can become. Sincerely, Matthew W. Choate, SJES Class of ‘84 President, Board of Trustees LETTER FROM THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES While an annual report is designed to look back, reflect and express appreciation, St. John’s Episcopal School also issues this publication as a celebration of our wonderful family: students whose faces grace these pages, parents whose commitment to St. John’s philosophy motivates them to enroll their children year after year, administrators, faculty and staff whose dedication knits together each day, each classroom experience, each amazing academic year; donors, families, alumni, businesses and local foundations who sustain this opportunity for a distinctive formative education offered to the Abilene area. St. John’s upholds a proud tradition as we engage our Preschool through fifth grade students in the most advanced learning strategies strengthened by modern technology housed in well-appointed classrooms. Building on tradition, St. John’s prepares tomorrow's leaders. LETTER FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL

St.

John’s as a student and alumnus, then as a multi-termed Trustee, and now as a parent. As a proud parent and current Pres-ident of the Board of Trustees, I continue to serve St.

We value personal contribu-tion of time and talent, as well as financial contributions that provide

the resources that help St.

Sincerely,

Matthew W. Choate, SJES Class of ‘84President, Board of Trustees

LETTER FROM THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

St. John’s upholds a proud tradition as we engage our Preschool through fifth grade students in the most advanced learning strategies strengthened by modern technology housed in well-appointed classrooms. Building on tradition, St. John’s prepares tomorrow's leaders.
