Cartoon Camp by Ron Wheeler Cartoon Camp was wildly successful in it’s debut last year, and 2009 prom- ises to be even better with 4 camps instead of 2. In each camp Ron teaches the basics that goes into cartooning including how to add emotion and personal- ity to your drawings. You will also learn how to sculpt cartoon heads with modeling clay and use that as a reference for drawing characters from different angles. You will also learn what goes into creating a comic strip and will have the opportunity to create one. Ron Wheeler has been drawing cartoons full time professionally for organizations all over the globe since 1980. Ron has authored a line of religious cartoon booklets that have sold over 40 million copies. He has also had several books and CDs of clip art and comic strips published. Plus, Ron’s humorous illustrations can oſten be found in Sunday School curriculum, VBS mate- rials, magazine articles, and book covers as well. Audrey’s Art Camp Art Camp provides a wonderful opportunity for you to have a hands-on creative experience with individual instruction. e class will include various art projects such as working with clay, etching, and craſting paper. Every day there will be lessons on art design and theory, as well as brief biographies of famous artists. Audrey Wheeler, Ron’s daughter and Cartoon Camp assistant, will be the main teacher for Art Camp. She is currently an art education major at Missouri Southern State Univer- sity and is a member of their Honor’s Program. She has also had considerable experience working with young people as a Parliamentary Debate teacher and in youth ministry. Pick a camp ... or pick both!
