THE KEY TO SUCCESS.

INSTALLATIONStorage rack installations should be performed by trained personnel, experienced with proper rack assembly procedures. Incorrect rack assembly can not only cause poor performance of your system, but can also pose a safety hazard in your facility.

United Material Handling, Inc. is licensed and bonded to install any type of storage system. Our installation crew travels nationwide and specializes in installation and removal of material handling equipment.

We install a variety of pallet racking systems including: push-back, pallet flow, case flow, pick-modules, cantilever, conveyor, mezzanine and many more.

United Material Handling project team provides turnkey racking relocation, dismantling, retrofitting and repairing.

SOLUTIONSUnited Material Handling, Inc. special-izes in selling of new storage products, and systems to the material handling industry.

No matter what type of warehouse you are building or currently own you will need storage racks. We have the capability to design all of our pallet rack systems to meet your specifications.

ENGINEERING SERVICESWhen it comes to pallet racking—aisle width is a major factor for storage capacity. Storage capacity can be as low as 35% to as high as 75% de-pending on the type of pallet handling equipment you choose. Ensure you compare these costs before making a decision. United Material Handling Inc. offers warehouse engineering services to our customers. What United Material Handling Inc. Engineering Services can do for you:

• Custom tailor your warehouse.• Optimize usage of available ware-

house space.• Find creative storage and access

solutions.• Precise warehouse measurements

to get the best efficiency.• Technical drawings to achieve the

best layout design.• Design/build turnkey systems.

SINGLE DEEP LAYOUT

Single deep pallet racking is the most common type of rack, and can provide immediate access to each load stored. A pallet opening is immediately available in single deep racking because loads are stored only one pallet deep. It can be arranged to work with virtually all aisle confi gurations and be serviced by any type of lift truck. Single deep pallet racking is known for providing the lowest-density storage of any pallet racking system. It permits unimpeded access to every pallet it stores.

DOUBLE DEEP LAYOUT

Double deep is similar to single selective racking, but pallets are now stored two rows deep instead of one. This type of racking therefore requires specialized pallet handling equipment, using either a specialized forklift or a standard unit a with double deep handling attachment. Double handling is necessary unless pallets are stored on a last-in/fi rst-out basis. In most cases, two pallets of the same product are stored in a slot of a double-deep rack, which limits the fl exibility of a warehouse’s storage space. For greatly increased storage density without a major compromise to accessibility, double-deep pallet racks are an excellent solution.

PALLET RACKSPallet racking, also known as selective racking, can be manufactured in both rolled form and structural steel, depending on the customers application. Pallet racking is a good choice for warehouse storing due to the selectivity it brings. Multiple forklifts or other types of equipment can work in an aisle at once. Pallet racking is a great way to maximize effi-ciency and increase revenue.

• Cost effective.• Access large range of stock keeping units (SKU’s).• First in, first out storage.• No special forklift requirements.

CANTILEVER RACKSThis type of racking systems are excellent for large, bulky, long or oddly-shaped materials such as pipe, bar, round and square tubing, steel angle, lumber, poles, plumbing supplies, steel plate, wood, sheet steel, structural steel, etc. It offers an efficient way to organize and store all bulk items. They are available as either single sided cantilever racks or double sided. These types of racks increase space utilization. They are available in a variety of capacities and sizes to fit your specific storage requirements.

• Excellent for storing items of non-uniform size and length.• Offers greater storage capacity and efficiency in storing longer items.• Expand valuable floor space by retrieving products off the ground and onto racks.• Protects and helps prevent damage to longer items.

CARTON FLOWDurable carton flow racking solutions, designed to perform and built to last for all appli-cations; custom speed controllers by weight range. FIFO (First-in, First-out) carton system. Carton flow is a great option where high through-put is required, and, or in high volume of each SKU. You simply load a carton into the back of the system and it flows to the front of the system.

• Huge improvement in your pick efficiency.• Inventory moves quickly on the wheels.• Carton flow streamlines item by allowing more to be stored.• Maximize space, minimal personnel due to the carton flow keeping the inventory moving quickly.

PICK MODULES SYSTEMSPick Module systems are often customized for each facility, since storage and picking re-quirements can differ greatly between warehouses. (CTO) Configure to order.

Typical for multi-level racking structures with conveyors running through them to move prod-ucts from the picking areas to the shipping areas. Replenishment of product within the pick module is done from the outside aisles, most often with a lift truck.

Well-versed for large distribution centers, they are a combination of basic pallet racking components, such as uprights and beams, and sub-components that facilitate the move-ment of product and inventory control. Sub-components consisting of carton flow, pallet flow, various forms of shelving and conveyor.

PUSH-BACK RACKSPush-Back Racks have the ability to be configured on multiple levels high. Push-backs are utilized for maximizing density.

• Low profile carts are safely attached to the rail so lessen the probability of dislodgement.• We can design a push-back rack system to fit into virtually any space in your warehouse.• Push-back racking is accessed from only one side.• It’s commonly placed up against a wall or configured back-to-back.• More efficient stock rotation because every lane is accessible from the aisle.• Greater lifespan than drive in rack because the forklift only access the front of the rack.• Low maintenance. Easy to clean.

SHELVINGOrganizing your warehouse, or other storage space should be simple and convenient. With industrial steel shelving and boltless shelving, users get the convenience and cost-effective-ness coupled with strength. High gauge steel will keep your metal shelving system sturdy, even under the weight of heavy duty loads. Shelving can also be found in a multi-level system to maximize your space.

DRIVE-IN RACK SYSTEMSDrive-in racking systems are most cost-effective for high density pallet storage require-ments. It’s ideal for slow moving items, and will help maximize your storage space. Drive into the rack, place pallet on continuous rails, and slowly back out of rack. The operation is slower in comparison to push-back and pallet flow rack systems. To save space by maximiz-ing storage density, this system is ideal.

• Lowest cost, highest density pallet storage.• Drive-In rack uses a common entry/exit.• Designed to store many pallets of the same item that are slow movers.• Increases storage density by up to 85% fewer aisles are required.• Drive-in has low efficiency.

MEZZANINESCreate additional floors of space for a variety of different uses including; storage or extra office space. Mezzanine floors are a very quick and cost-effective way to create new space without the expense and inconvenience of relocation. Mezzanine floors can be supplied with concrete or tongue and groove decking depending on the load. Mezzanines can be used to support conveyor systems throughout a warehouse. A multi-story structure is also, an option.
