Having beheld God's GLORY, Isaiah pronounces judgment upon himself.

Cleansing (verses 6, 7)

"Only fire can dwell with fire - take a piece of iron or steel and place it in the fire and it will absorb the heat and begin to glow with incandescent brightness."

Only when Isaiah was cleansed did he hear the CALL of the Lord.

He had beheld the glory of the Lord - He had heard the Lord's Commission – His response --- Here am I send me!

Isaiah was CONSUMED!

Consumption (verse 8)

2 Corinthians 5:14“For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.”

Paul like Isaiah had encountered the love of Jesus, he had beheld His beauty, experienced His forgiveness - now he could not help himself - he had to give His life for the purpose of bringing glory to the Lord.

Compels literally means

“It leaves me no choice.”
