Introduction• GUIDE@HAND is an audio tourist guide available on mobile devices
(e.g. smartphone, tablet).• The Global Positioning System (GPS) or QR codes are used to
exactly determine the location of the traveller.• One of the most important factors in spreading out GUIDE@ HAND
is that the application is available both on iOS (iPhone, iPad) and Android based mobile devices.
• During the walks, tourists may obtain unique knowledge about the sights and attractions of a town or region by themselves.
• The application will help the tourists to discover the city or location with turn-by-turn navigation, guiding them from one interesting sight to the next - they will be presented all information and stories at the right place and time.
GUIDE@HAND services 1• One- or two-hour-long entertaining walks• Audio stories and voice instructions in various languages while
walking• Usage of offline or online interactive maps• Possibility of standalone discovery of a town or a region• Displaying useful places (e.g. restaurants, entertainment,
shops, etc.) on the map• Event recommendation in the neighborhood
GUIDE@HAND services 2• Event recommendation in the neighborhood• No Internet costs during using the application• Usage of indoor information system (GPS, QR)• WEB 2.0 services• Sharing and reliving experiences• Statistical data on the usage of the service• Premium service providers
GUIDE@HAND target groups• Foreign and domestic tourists• Towns, local governments, regions• Education• Entrepreneurs in related retail trade• Museums• Exhibitions• etc.
BIDL – G@H integration1. Create a content editor tool inside BIDL which allows the users to
create collections of their selected paintings.2. This tool allows the users to save, edit, delete these collections.3. The tool can create an export of a selected collection. This export
is a zip file which is stored on the BIDL's server for a specified amount of time. This export could be read by the GUIDE@HAND application.
4. The iconography website could generate a QR code for the URL of this zip export file.
5. The GUIDE@HAND mobile application could read this QR code, recognize that it is from BIDL and download the zip file.
6. The GUIDE@HAND mobile application then could show these downloaded arts.
