Introduction
Examine step-by-step directions for creating count report breakdowns — first by geography and then by
additional selections. Learn how you can utilize the count breakdown reports to analyze your count and
“cut back” your order based on the selectors that are summarized.
Breakdown report functions • Analysis tool — You can create count breakdown reports that allow you to see the number of records
that are available within specific selections. For example, you can create a count breakdown by ZIP CodeTM or income ranges within each ZIP Code.
• Ordering tool — You can use matrix reports to “cut back” or “NTH” records from specific selections
when you place an order. For example, you could NTH by ZIP Code or income range. Report options • Geographic breakdown • Two-dimensional matrix • Three-dimensional matrix

Option 1: Geographic breakdown
1. After you have successfully entered your search criteria, click on the Reports button.
2. The Available Reports window will be displayed; click on the radio button for the Breakdown by
geography, and then click the Next button.

3. The Report Delivery Options window will be displayed. Enter the appropriate information and then click the Create Report button to submit your count summary.
Email The email address is the address where the count summary will be delivered. Multiple email addresses can be entered by separating the addresses with a semicolon (;). For example: [email protected]; [email protected]
Pricing Click the “Show my pricing on report” check box if you want to receive a price quote for this search. Geography Breakdowns The search will automatically be summarized on the geography level that was defined in the search criteria. Based on your criteria, additional geographical breakdown options will be displayed. For example: This search used State level geography, and you can click the check box for “by 3 Digit Zip” for an additional level of count summary. Additional Selections Breakdown Additional selectors used in your search will be displayed as optional summary fields. To summarize on a selector, click on the check box for the selector(s) that you wish to include in the count summary. Search Description The search description is used to name your search so it can be easily recognized — for example, with the company name and any other important details: “Client ABC — Geo Breakdown”

4. Once the report has processed, it will be emailed to you. However, you can also view your count summary online. Click on Previous Searches, and then click on the View/Order hyperlink for the Search #.
Below is a sample of how the online count summary will be displayed:

5. To place an order using the count summary for cutback options; click the Place Order button, and the Place Order screen will be displayed.
6. Click I want only some records from a specific Additional Selection, and then click on the Continue with Order hyperlink. Below is an example of the NTH by Additional Selections screen that will be displayed:

Only one additional selection may be NTHed per order. For example, if you are cutting back on Marital Status, the system will not allow the Dwelling Type quantities to be edited.
7.After entering the cutback quantities, click the Continue button to proceed with submitting your order.

Option 2: Two-dimensional matrix The Two-dimensional matrix report allows you to create a report that breaks down your search results into primary and secondary selections. The report informs you how many records are available for each secondary selection within each primary selection. Note: You can select and order cells from a matrix report. For example, by requesting a two-dimensional matrix report, you can specify Enhanced Estimated Household Income range as your primary selection and Homeowner/Renter as your secondary selection. The reports will break down the number of records available for each Homeowner/Renter value within each of the income ranges.

2. The Available Reports window will be displayed; click on the radio button for the Two-dimensional matrix report, and then click the Next button.

Create two-dimensional report This option allows you to summarize two selectors: your Secondary Selection within your Primary Selection — for example, Enhanced Estimated Income within Marital Status.

When using the Secondary Selection, you may click on the Insert button to add additional secondary selections.
This allows you to run multiple Two-dimensional matrix reports at the same time. For example:
• Enhanced Estimated Household Income within Marital Status • Age within Marital Status • Gender within Marital Status Search description The search description is used to name your search so it can be easily recognized — for example, company name and any other important details: “Client ABC — Two-Tier Breakdown” 4. Option 3: Three-dimensional matrix A three-dimensional report allows you to break down your search results into primary, secondary and tertiary selections. The report informs you how many records are available for each tertiary value, within each secondary value, within each primary value. Note: You can select and order cells from a matrix report. For example, by requesting a three-dimensional matrix report, you can specify Enhanced Estimated Household Income range as your primary selection, Homeowner/Renter as your secondary selection and Marital Status as your tertiary selection. The report will provide you with the number of records available for all Marital Status values within each of the Homeowner/Renter values, within each Enhanced Estimated Income range. 1. Create three-dimensional report This option allows you to summarize three selectors: your tertiary selection within your secondary selection within your primary selection — for example, Dwelling Type within Enhanced Estimated Income within Marital Status.
When using the tertiary selection, you may click on the Insert button to add additional tertiary selections.
This allows you to run multiple Three-dimensional matrix reports at the same time. For example:
• Dwelling Type within Income within Marital Status • Age within Income within Marital Status • Gender within Income within Marital Status
Search Description The Search Description is used to name your search so it can be easily recognized — for example, company name and any other important details: “Client ABC – Three-dimensional Breakdown” 4.
