Writing: Writing letters III. Materials Sample letter in a manila paper Poem “All Things Bright and Beautiful” IV. Procedure Daily Routine Oral reading (basic sight words) Constructing simple sentences Reading Tell the class that you are going to read a poem. Write the title of the poem on the board and let the class read it. Ask them what comes to their mind after reading the title. Write their responses on the board and ask them why they say so. Read the poem aloud and let the pupils follow silently. Ask them to read the following phrases great and small creatures purple-headed mountain glowing colors Tell the class that these are descriptive words and explain the role of these words to the things being described. Ask the pupils to read the poem in chorus and individually. Writing Ask the pupils to write a letter to a friend telling him/her about the poem you have just read. Tell them what you have learned after reading the poem. Evaluation Write down words that describe any of the following: a flower garden, a pet, a place you have visited.
