Alkaline soln of Rochelle salt(sod pot tartarate)

5 Ferric chloride FeCl32. What is Iodoform test?Compounds having O OH ║ │ R─C-CH3 Or R ─C –CH3 │ H Structure on reaction with mixture of NaOH & I2 give yellow coloured ppt of iodoform (CHI3)

3.What is the test of Phenolic –OH Group?Sample of Phenol + Neutral FeCl3 solnà Violet colouration4.Test for 1º,2º,3º Alcohol-

Test Observation 3º Alcohol  + Lucas Reagent (ZnCl2 + Conc HCl ) Turbidity appears immediately
