Lesson Title: Numbers

Standards: ACTFL Standard 1.1 : Students engage in conversations, provide and obtain infor-

mation, express feelings and emotions, and exchange opinions.

Standard 2.2: Students demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between the products

and perspectives of the culture studied.

NYSED Standard 1: Students will be able to use a language other than English for communica-

tion.

Objectives:

Students will demonstrate correct pronunciation by repeating.

Students will demonstrate correct pronunciation by singing the number song.

Students will demonstrate comprehension by completing a word search.

Anticipatory Set:

The students will tell the people around them the numbers they already know in Spanish. (2mins)

Procedure:

First I will teach the students the numbers 1-10 in Spanish. I will show them the flashcard and

tell them in number in Spanish. I will review the new words with them two times. Then I will

have them tell the number back to me on the count of there. I will do this with them two more

times. (5mins)

Second I will teach the students the number song. I will have the song typed out for them on a

sheet which they will be given. The first time through I will have them listen as I play the song.

Then we will sing the whole song through one time. (5mins)

Last the students will complete a word search. (5mins)

Assessment/Evaluation: When they say the number back to me I will be checking for compre-

hension. While playing the game I will be checking to see if the students are aware of what

numbers they have.

Closure: The students will review the number we have learned using culture related signs.

Song sheet, flashcards (numbers 1-10), video(internet), powerpoint with signs
