Lesson Plan (My Farm)

Theme: World of knowledgeTopic: On the FarmClass: Year 2Time: 60 minutesFocussed Skill: Listening and speakingIntegrated Skill: ReadingContent Standard: 4.3 By the end of 6-year of primary schooling, pupils will be able to plan, organize and produce creative works for enjoyment.Learning Standard: 4.3.1 Able to produce simple creative works with guidance based on:a) Action songsObjectives: By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:i. Sing the song The Farm with correct pronunciation, rhythm and intonation.ii. Remember at least nine out of eleven farm animals from the song.iii. Imagine and create their own farm by cut and paste activity (collage) base on the pictures given. iv. Able to answer three out of five questions correctly from the worksheets given to test how they can comprehend the information from the song. Teaching-learning Resources: Farmers clothes, Song lyric (The Farm), instrumental music player of (The Fox) by Ylvis, music bowl (teachers music instrument), sample of cut and paste product (collage), pictures of farm animals, drawing block, stationeries like glue and scissors and worksheets. Educational Emphasis: Multiple Intelligence (visual-spatial, verbal-linguistic), Constructivism, Thinking Skills, Contextual Learning, and Creativity and Innovation.

Presentation(15 minutes)Singing the song 1. Teacher displays the lyrics of song on the screen.2. Teacher teaches the pupils to sing the song with the guide of instrumental music player of The Fox by Ylvis and also the movements of the song.3. Teacher sings along and repeats the song twice.4. Teacher also uses music bowl to make the instrumental sound and his teaching become more interesting. 5. Teacher gives chances to a few pupils to try the music bowl. 1. Pupils follow the teacher movements and sing along.2. Pupils may refer to the lyric while sing the song. 3. A few pupils will try to use musical instruments during sing the song.4. Pupils have to imagine that they are in the farm.

Practice (20 minutes)My Farm 1. Teacher shows sample of a cut and paste product (collage) entitle My Farm.2. Teacher divides pupils in group and distributes the materials.3. Teacher demonstrates to pupils how to do cut and paste (collage) activity.4. Teacher scaffolds pupils in the process of making the product.5. Along the way, teacher will ask few questions to the pupils to gain their imagination to create their own farm.1. Pupils produce the product of cut and paste activity (collage) in group of four.2. Pupils can divided the works among the group member. 3. Pupils may draw some other pictures on the drawing block.

Production(15 minutes) Worksheets 1. Teacher gives worksheets to pupils which is mix and match activity according to their level of proficiency.2. After pupils have done their worksheets, teacher will discuss the answers with the pupils.1. Pupils refer to song to do the worksheets.2. Pupils will be discussing the answers with the teacher after they have done the worksheets.To ensure pupils know how to read and comprehend the information.Worksheets: based on level of proficiency
