Activity: How much, how many, a few, a little...? Countable-Non countable nouns and quantifiersSkills: Listening, writing, speaking
Expected outcomes: By the lesson students will be able to identify countable and uncountable nouns. Also students will be able to distinguishing among most of the quantifiers work with them. Resources: Worksheets, data show, computers, on line dictionary.
Time Comments:
Introduction : 20 min Teacher asks students to recall the difference between Greetings. Countable and Uncountable nouns. Then writing on the “Countable or uncountable?” board a number of often confused nouns, teacher starts . asking student to match them as an countable or Uncountable. Also teacher give some feedback in order to Learn how some uncountable nous will be possible to make Them countable e.g. furniture –a piece of furniture, milk- A Bootle of milk.etc
While –Stage 15 min After recalling countable - uncountable nouns , teacher Introduces the adverbs of quantity, setting the difference “Using Quantifiers: talking about among them , showing by writing examples on the Large and little quantities" board how some of them are used to talk about large And little quantities and the way different nouns work With them.
Post- Stage : 20 min In order to rehearse the topics learnt, practitioner “Talking about large and little provides a fill in the gap worksheet where students Quantities” have to match the best suitable adverbs of Frequency. This is an individual task, so teacher provides Individual assistance in order to clarify doubts and reinforce Knowledge about the topics.
Closing 10 min Teacher assigns the quantifiers worksheet as a homework, Ask for doubts, and anticipates next session topic and Activities.
