Shape Series - Main Solving Strategies

• Isolate and focus one item at a time

• Track its changes throughout the frames

• Look for popular patterns, e.g.:

❑ Rotation

❑ Mirror images

❑ Increase/decrease in size and/or quantity

❑ Displacement

❑ Colour/shading

• Eliminate irrelevant answer options

• Repeat process if needed

• Don’t look at answer options until you have at least one pattern figured out


• A Relationship between a pair of items, used on another pair of items

• How to work:

1. Describe a clear relationship

2. Maintain the direction of the relationship

3. Follow the same solving methods that were provided for series and matrices
