L. A. Oldstrom Is Dead; Retired M&T Officer

Lawrence A. Oldstrom, 63, a< retired assistant vice president of the Manufacturers & Traders Trust Co., died Wednesday in Buffalo General Hospital after a short illness. |

Mr. Oldstrom, St. Petersburg., Fla., formerly of Buffalo, had J been visiting his family in the i Buffalo area fur the past three j weeks. He had lived in St. Peters-; burg since retiring in 1963 be-1 cause of ill health.

Mrs. Meyers Dies; Depew Firm Aide

Mrs. Mary T. Meyers, 39, died at her home on Columbia Rd., Lancaster, Wednesday morning after a six-month illness. She was vice president and secretary of LeMar Metal Products Inc., 84 Main St., Depew.

Mrs. Meyers was active in oper­ations of the family's metal stamping and fabricating business since its incorporation in 1953 and became vice president two years ago. Her husband, Leo M., is president and treasurer of the company.

Other survivors include two daughters, Christine, 18, and Deborah, 16; four brothers, Frank, of Amherst, Albert, Jo­seph, and Walter Garwoi, all of Buffalo; three sisters, Mrs. William Lawicki, of Lancaster, Mrs. Kermit Goodwin and Mrs. Adolph Krzyzanski, both of Buf-

|ter Mary Grace, CSSF, 80, a I teacher for 41 years, will be sung at 9 Friday morning in the Villa Maria Chapel, 600 Deat St. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Cheektowaga.

Sister Mary Grace died Tues­day in the Villa Maria Infirmary at the Doat St. address after a long illness. The former Helen Witkowski was a Felician nun for 61 years.

She retired as a teacher of the fourth and fifth grades in 1955, after 10 years on the faculty of Transfiguration School, Buffalo.

Sister Mary Grace had taught in St. Casimir's, St. Valentine's. St. John Kanty's and Assumption schools, all of Buffalo; and at St. Andrew's School, Sloan.

Sister Mary Grace began h e r teaching career in 1914 at St Stanislaus School, Erie, Pa., and later also taught at Sacred Heart a n d Transfiguration, Syracuse: and St. Stanislaus School, Bing-hamton. She entered the order in 1906.

Surviving are a brother, Felix Witkowski of Buffalo; and nieces and nephews.

Traffic Court Named Best in Its Class

HONOLULU, Hawaii - The City of Buffalo Wednesday was named first-place winner in traffic court procedure and ad­ministration among cities with populations between 500,000 and 750,000 at the American Bar Assn. annual meeting here.

Chief Clerk Raymond J. McMahOfl of City Court noted it was the first time the local Traffic Court has received a first-place award in t h i s category, although it has been cited by the ABA five times previously.

The court took second place in

its population group in the vears 1955-1956 and 1962-1963. It won honorable mention citations in 1952-1953, 1961-1962 and 1963-1964

Mr. Oldstrom also was active in fund campaigns, especially those of the Red Cross, United Fund and the Buffalo Philhar­monic Orchestra. In 1958 he was Business Division chairman of the then combined United Community Chest-Red Cross Appeal.

A Mason, Mr. Oldstrom was a member of Highland Lodge 835, F&AM; and of the Buffalo Con­sistory. He also was a former member of the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce and the Buffalo-Niagara Sales Executives Assn.

Born in Titusville. Pa., he was a graduate of Jamestown High School and was an Army veteran of World War II.

Tire Iron Wielder Robs Station of $185

A man who bought cigarettes, then returned waving a tire iron, robbed the night attendant at the M. and H. gas station, 473 Dela-van Ave., at 2 Wednesday morn­ing.

Dennis Reilly, 18, of 3204 Bailey Ave., told police a white man about 35, bought cigarettes, left the station, then came back min­utes later with the metal bar ask­ing, "Have you «ver been rob­bed or beaten?"
