RESPECT RESPONSIBILITY INTEGRITY [email protected] 1 THURSDAY 26 MAY 2016 TERM 2 | WEEK 5 From the Principal’s Desk We have had another busy week with lots of things happening. We have many children representing the school with various sporting teams at the moment, who are doing our school proud. All teams that are representing the school are doing an amazing job. We also have children trialling to be selected for various district and zone teams. We look forward to hearing how you go in future trials. After a successful district cross country last week, many pupils will now progress to the zone level on Friday 3 June. Good luck. Good News The school also received good news last week regarding a student who entered the 2016 Storytelling competition. Congratulations Bryn Walshaw who has been selected as one of six finalists throughout the state. Bryn is now invited to share his story in Sydney with the other finalists on 29 May in Sydney. Well done Bryn and best of luck from all of us! Kinder Information Night Our information night for children wishing to start Kinder in 2017 was held on Tuesday evening. It was lovely to see lots of new faces that will be enrolling at our school in 2017. If you know of any parents who may be enrolling their children in Kindergarten for 2017, who were unable to attend, please encourage them to come to the office for an information package. Biggest Morning Tea Our school hosted the biggest morning tea today. Stage 3 children are provided the food for this. We thank you all for your support of this great cause. We hope you all enjoyed your treats and your drink. Skateboards A reminder - If your child chooses to ride a skateboard to school, it is their responsibility to store it at the front of the school. If they cannot do this safely, then it should not come to school. Skateboards are not to be placed on bag racks or in classrooms as they become a potential WHS issue. Just as bikes need to be left at the front of the school, so do skateboards. We thank you for your assistance with this. Lennox Lookout WHAT’S COMING UP! Dancing Queens!

Once again our very talented dancers have shown what excellence looks like at the Australian Country Dance Festival held at Tamworth recently. Mia Hoey received a Silver medal in the 12 years and under team and a Bronze medal in the Starter Junior Masters. Great work girls! Library A reminder to students to bring in your Premier’s Reading Challenge into the library. P&C News What a wonderful effort for all involved in helping with the Mother’s day stall. It was lovely to see all the smiling faces, so excited about buying something for Mum. We raised just under $1000 for your school. Thank you to Katie Rhodes for her organisational skills and to the wonderful helpers on both days of the stall. LOCK IN THE DATES: SATURDAY 30TH JULY - Fundraising Night. More information on this will be out over the coming weeks. THURSDAY 3RD NOVEMBER - is the date for our SPRING FAIR. Information will be sent out as it gets closer to the date.
