• Lenin suffers a stroke in 1922, he survives but competition begins to replace him

• Leon Trotsky & Joseph Stalin are the leading men• Lenin dies in 1924, before his death he did not trust

mail & planted informers

• Used Russian propaganda– Controlled all newspapers,

media, motion pictures & etc…

• Government controlled all education– Children learned virtues of the

Communist Party

• Religious Persecution– Russian Orthodox main target
