System Requirements

Please make sure that your computer system meets all the software and hardware

requirements before installing the LEGENDplexTM Data Analysis Software.

Hardware:

Pentium® Dual Core CPU 2.16Ghz or faster

2 GB RAM or higher

50 GB or more free hard disk space

1200 X 1024 or higher display resolution (Desktop)

1440 X 900 or higher display resolution (Desktop wide screen)

1280 X 800 or higher display resolution (Laptop wide screen)

Software:

Windows®: Windows 7 (32 bit/64 bit) , Windows 8 (32 bit/64 bit)

Microsoft® .Net Framework v4.5 required (included with installation package)

Microsoft® Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Package (included with installation

package)

Notes: The installation of LEGENDplex date analysis software requires that you have

administration rights to the computer. If you do not have the administration rights,

please contact your system administrator for help.

It is recommended that you follow the default file directory

(C:\VigeneTech\LEGENDplex\) to install the software. If you have to change the default

directory, please make sure that the directory is fully accessible.

The installation steps are straightforward: simply follow the instructions on the

computer screen. All required auxiliary software pieces are compiled in a single package

and LEGENDplex™ Data Analysis Software will be installed automatically.



New Installation

Download the software package from either the BioLegend website:

To install:

1. Double click setup.exe in the installation package, this will prompt the following

dialog box:

2. Click Install, the Visual C++ installation window will then prompt:

3. Click Install, and follow the instructions on the screen. After Visual C++ has

been installed successfully, the LEGENDplexTM Data Analysis Software

installation interface will pop up.

4. Click Next.



5. Read the License Agreement and if the terms of the agreement are acceptable,

select I Agree and then click Next.



6. Click Browse to select a destination folder and click Next. The default software

installation folder is: C:\Program Files\VigeneTech\LEGENDplex.

Note: Full administrator privileges for the computer are necessary in order to

complete the installation.



7. Enter your registration information in the Name, E-mail Address and

Organization fields. Click Next.

8. The Trial License dialog box will then be prompted. Click Yes to run the

software on a trial version, click No to proceed with the setup of the software

license.



9. Click Close on the interface to complete the installation.



Common installation problems

If the following dialog box is prompted in the process of installation, please follow the

instructions below.

Solution:

1. Click Search Windows icon from the lower left corner, enter ‘cmd’ to find

Command Prompt；



2. Right click and Run as Administrator；

3. Find the path of the installation package, e.g. the path of the installation

package is in E:\VG.



4. Copy path, and then copy the program name;

5. In the command prompt (administrator), type the msiexec/package full path (as

shown below) you are going to install the program and the program name

(notice the space).

6. Press Enter, the installation procedure will start automatically,



If the following dialog box is prompted in the process of installation, please

follow the instructions below.



Solution: Please contact the IT people in your company, unzip the package，open the

folder to choose the correct BLinstall8.0.x64.msi according to your computer's OS, and

then double click BLinstall8.0.x64.msi to install. The default installation folder is

C:\VigeneTech\LEGENDplex v8.0.

Re-installation

If you need to re-install the software while keeping your current license, you can follow

the steps below to reinstall.

1. Uninstall Current Version:

Before you attempt the re-installation, you need to remove the existing version

currently installed on your computer. You can use the Add and Remove

Programs function in the Control Panel on your computer.

2. Re-installation: Follow the steps of the New Installation in this guide.

Using Trial License

You can use a trial license for 30 days to evaluate the LEGENDplexTM Data Analysis

Software. To use the trial version, you must choose to use Trial License while installing

the program.

When you launch the LEGENDplexTM Data Analysis Software, a Trial License dialog box

will pop up.



Click Yes to launch the program.

Once the trial period expires, you may reinstall the program and use the trial version for

additional 5 days.

Using the Dongle

The dongle license is for Windows PC, not for Mac computers.

In order to use the full program after installing the LEGENDplexTM Data Analysis

Software, you need to have a valid license. For computers with Windows operating

systems, insert a dongle license (a physical thumb drive that has a license key on it) into

the USB port of your computer. The software will detect the dongle automatically, and it

will not launch without a valid license.

Note: Insert the dongle prior to starting the LEGENDplexTM Data Analysis Software.

Each dongle has 1,000,000 data points on it. The points are consumed after each analysis.

Data point consumption is calculated by multiplying the number of files being analyzed

by the number of analytes in the assay run (e.g. a 13-plex assay run in a 96 well plate

would consume 1248 points). During the analysis process, if the dongle has less than

2600 data points, a message will appear to inform you the dongle status in every step.

A dongle may also have an expiration time limitation.

For Mac computer users, please follow instructions for Mac computers to obtain a file

license:

When a report is generated or result data is saved, a dialog box will appear to ask the user

whether to continue.
