is about you

is about Him

We want to ESTABLISH the TESTIMONY of God in our life

19 and taking food, he wasstrengthened. For some days he waswith the disciples at Damascus.20 And immediately he proclaimedJesus in the synagogues, saying, "Heis the Son of God."

21 And all who heard him wereamazed and said, "Is not this theman who made havoc in Jerusalemof those who called upon this name? And has he not come here for thispurpose, to bring them bound beforethe chief priests?"

22 But Saul increased all the more instrength, and confounded the Jewswho lived in Damascus by provingthat Jesus was the Christ. 23 Whenmany days had passed, the Jewsplotted to kill him, 24 but their plotbecame known to Saul. They werewatching the gates day and night inorder to kill him,

25 but his disciples took him by nightand let him down through anopening in the wall, lowering him ina basket. 26 And when he had cometo Jerusalem, he attempted to jointhe disciples. And they were allafraid of him, for they did not believethat he was a disciple.

27 But Barnabas took him andbrought him to the apostles anddeclared to them how on the roadhe had seen the Lord, who spoke tohim, and how at Damascus he hadpreached boldly in the name ofJesus. 28 So he went in and outamong them at Jerusalem, preachingboldly in the name of the Lord.

29 And he spoke and disputedagainst the Hellenists. But they wereseeking to kill him. 30 And when thebrothers learned this, they broughthim down to Caesarea and sent himoff to Tarsus.

31 So the church throughout allJudea and Galilee and Samaria hadpeace and was being built up. Andwalking in the fear of the Lord and inthe comfort of the Holy Spirit, itmultiplied.

1 But Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest

2 and asked him for letters to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.

The view of Saul about Jesus was formed by his previous beliefs

Philippians 3:5-6

5 circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the law, a Pharisee;

6 as to zeal, a persecutor of the church; as to righteousness, under the law blameless.

Saul’s religious belief led himto kill Christians

Today many people were established in wrong beliefsthat leads them to persecute Christians and some kill.

Only the WORD OF GOD can establish a person in the right way.

PARADIGM SHIFT

WAS NECESSARY

Some Christians were established in wrong principles and later grew in wrong motivesin Christian life.

Many people focus on Prosperity life than Crucified Life in Christ

Many people spend so much on church buildings more than building the lives of people

Many likes to testify receiving material blessings than testifying giving blessing to others.

3 Now as he went on his way, he approached Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.

4 And falling to the ground he heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?"

5 And he said, "Who are you, Lord?" And he said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.

6 But rise and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do."

7 The men who were traveling with him stood speechless, hearing the voice but seeing no one.

8 Saul rose from the ground, and although his eyes were opened, he saw nothing. So they led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus.

9 And for three days he was without sight, and neither ate nor drank.

Why did God needed to intervened in Saul by Jesusappearing to him and not let others preach to him?

Because anyone who preaches in front of Paul was killed.

Today God is doing it in the middle east.

Saul’s view of Jesus change after the Damascus encounter.

He now believe that Jesus is the Son of God and the Christ

9 And for three days he was without sight, and neither ate nor drank.

Saul had a time to process everything he believe before.A time of prayer with the Lord.

Sometimes our obedience to Christ will lead us to suffer in some areas of our life as a testimony of our devotion to Christ.

Some gave up their dreams to become missionaries

Some left their professions, sacrificed their time, strength, money, some gave their life.

Saul by his previous profession as a sanhedrin and pharisee could have influence the order to persecute Christians and stop itbut God did not allow it. Saul joins the suffering to become more like Jesus.

God will allow us to go through a certain period of suffering for Him to accomplish a humble spirit in us and a submitted spirit to the will of God.

By doing this, God is establishing us .

3 The devil said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread."

4 And Jesus answered him, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone.'"

Jesus was offered comfort more than suffering in hunger but did not gave in.

Saul was reconciled not only to Godbut also to the Christians in the community.

The Church or group of believers becomes a Refuge center for Saul. The church became his family. Later he took the role of a spiritual father to many churches.

15 For though you have countless guides in Christ, you do not have many fathers. For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel

We need to be established in our WALK WITH GOD so that we can HELP OTHERS ALSO.
