FAO Bangladesh hosted an iftar party for its partners and Dhaka-based staff on July 7th at the representation office at Dhanmondi in Dhaka. Visitors also took advantage of the occasion to visit the new rooftop vegetable garden – developed as preparation for a forthcoming technical cooperation project. Mike Robson (FAOR) and Valeria Poggi (Programme Officer) joined staff in fasting for the day. “For me, missing food was not the problem, but not taking water was difficult” confessed the FAOR. The fresh local mango juice served was highly appreciated by all. Given the success of the event – with around 50 senior government counterparts and partners, as well as around 80 staff – this is likely to become a regular part of the calendar for FAO Bangladesh.
