    To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing because I would love to intern with J Public Relations. I graduated on May 3

from the University of Alabama with a double-major in public relations and marketing and

plan to move to New York in August. My numerous leadership positions and internships

qualify me for a position; please see my resume.

I want to intern for JPR because, frankly, I love food and I love to travel. Some of my fondest

childhood memories are of my five-member family piled in one bed watchingEmeril Live

and yelling bam! along with him. My love for food carried on through the years; I worked

for a specialty food store and gourmet deli for four years. My taste buds were fine tuned from

exposure to food from all over the world. I was promoted to assistant manager, which gaveme the duties of ordering our imported meats and cheeses, implementing holiday parties and

coordinating catering orders. Ive always had a bit of wanderlust and got to fuel it while

studying abroad and interning in Europe the past two summers. I had the opportunity to travel

to several countries and try their cuisine and soak up their culture, which only furthered my

love for food and travel. During an amazing dinner in Paris, I realized that I wanted to work

in the hospitality industry. Working for JPR would bring me closer to realizing that dream.

Working for JPR would combine my love for the hospitality industry and media with my

communication skills. As an intern, I could assist with media relations, writing, social media,

and event planning. I have honed these skills through my many positions. For example, as the

SGA Director of Media Relations, I attained coverage of SGA events from multiple media

sources, oversaw social media activity, coordinated interviews and directed campaigns. I

spearheaded the creation of an internal newsletter and saw a 20 percent increase in Twitter

followers during my tenure. Through a marketing internship with a restaurant group I have

also gained experience working with a team to generate interest in multiple restaurant chain

    concepts. This included:

Developing social media content including Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest Planning a ten year anniversary event for a restaurant Editing website and promotional material content

I am also passionate about working for JPR because after one visit to the JPR website, I knew

it was the type of environment I wanted to work in. My mother is my role model; I grew up

watching her run her own business. She now works for a company with the mission ofempowering women. I have seen her thrive in this environment and I hope to one day be as

    successful and influential as her.

I hope to apply my skills to working for J Public Relations. Please feel free to contact me at

859-533-8469 or [email protected]. Thank you for your time in considering this letter.

    Regards,

    Leela Foley
