Leeds St Christopher’s Ride to Brimham Lodge Event is a long distance ride, not the faint hearted. With a moderate difficulty rating this ride is suitable for those over 18 years.

The start point is opposite Lawnswood Cemetery car park, on A660 Otley Road, Adel, LS16 6AH.

Leeds Town Centre to Bolton Abbey. This is an intermediate ride with gentle hills as well as steep inclines. The road surface is generally very good. All topped off with some stunning views of the Yorkshire Dales.

The start point is Millenium Sq, outside the Town Hall and Weatherspoons.

Participants will be leaving from 9:30 onward. On arrival there is a great pub everyone can grab a bevvy at while relaxing by the river.

Five Schools, Five Challenges is a cycle ride and safety lesson for under 16 year olds. It is a smooth ride with some lovely country views.

The event will begin at the Otley Police station. Meet in the car park and we will go from there.

5 schools (10 children per school) will be cycling with Leeds City Council’s Road Safety and ‘ Travelwise ‘ team from the Otley Police Station through Leathley, onto Stainburn then into Arncliffe Crag for refreshments and exciting challenges and games.

Parents of the pupils on the ride are more than welcome to attend.

When I go biking, I repeat a mantra of the day’s sensations: bright sun, blue sky, warm breeze, blue jay’s call, ice melting and so on. This helps me transcend the traffic, ignore the clamorings of work, leave all the mind theaters behind and focus on nature instead. I still must abide by the rules of the road, of biking, of gravity.
