Product Design Prototype Update
The software that I will using is Flash Actionscript 2.0, I have decided to use this as it
meets the criteria set which is to create a multimedia project. Flash will allow me to do this
as the end product will be a stand alone project with videos, buttons (original and existing)and images; by using this application I will be able to successfully produce the initial
design in a digital format. The dimensions that I will be using are 1024x786 pixels; I
believe this definition is of a high enough quality to please the demands of the client. I also
feel that this standard definition is good as most people use this making it easily
accessible to a large audience.

This is the initial design for the intro page of my product, it was hand-drawn and scanned onto the
computer. All stakeholders were present when this design was made and it was agreed upon by all
stakeholders that the design for the Intro page once implemented into flash will be based around this
design. All main parts of the page are annotated in the image above.

After emailing one of the stakeholders, Pawel, the design he had some feedback for me to make changes
around. As you can see above his main concern was the images that will be used above the logo
representing all four members of the band. He suggests that the images should be monochrome as the
rest of the page is in black and white, I will consider this when making updates to my design, which I will do
once I receive feedback from various stakeholders on the initial design of the product.

These four symbols will be made into buttons which navigate you to the other pages of the system, to make this navigation easier
each button will be edited to have a mouse over feature with the name of the corresponding pages. It will be made clear that these
are buttons as the mouse cursor will change and the picture may be edited slightly when the mouse hovers over the button.
These images of the band have been from the initial design so that they are monochrome to suit the black
background and white text theme which will be continued throughout the product. The Images of the band
members correspond to the symbols below; each of the members picked out these symbols in once of their
albums, these signs would be easily recognisable to fans of the band. The black background
is going to be kept
after initial praise from
the first design of the
product , the theme is
going to be continued
as it matches the
legendary white logo
on a black background.

Initial Design of Tour Dates Page
This was the initial design for the tour dates page, I created it after a meeting where all stakeholders
were given the chance to share their opinions what the design should be. This was a combination of
ideas from the stakeholders and my interpretation of what we agreed upon at the meeting. All
stakeholders were presented with these designs at a formal meeting and their feedback was taken
into suggestion when an updated design was created.

Email correspondence for Tour Dates Page
This is an email that I received from the client about the design of the Tour Dates page once it was implemented onto a
computer, in the email he suggests some changes to the design. These include making more efficient use of the space
for one page, to do this I could make the title larger or centre it and also perhaps include more booking information on
the page so I make best use of the space available.

Booking Information
The feedback from the client and senior
manager was generally positive for this
page so not much has been changed since
the initial design. The image in the top right
corner has been changed slightly to make
the picture more natural looking to the
surrounding theme.
The Title of this page hasbeen changed slightly to
accommodate a new font;
the font that I tried to use
was not available to be
freely used due to copyright
infringements so I decided
to use a text that is similarcalled ‘Kashmir.’
These buttons
along the sidehave been
kept as they
make
navigating
through the
system much
easier. The booking information will be added
and more detailed than simply a title, the
information will include the variousmethods of purchasing tickets.

Initial Design for History Page
This is the first design that was produced for the history page, it was presented to the stakeholders, as
this was only a prototype the design will be changed as many times as is needed until all stakeholders
are happy with the design. This image has annotations and is not very detailed as the main component
of this page is the biographical text that will feature on the page as this is the whole reason for making
the page. This design was created in cooperation with all other stakeholders and reflects the general
opinion of what the page should look like at the time.

Email correspondence for History Page
The design for the history page was sent to all stakeholders and as you can see the opinion of
the client is that overall is good but there should perhaps be a point raised at the next meeting
on whether or not the page should have a video of the history of the band instead of the initially
proposed text. This email has given me something that could perhaps be edited in the project
and something that I will certainly look into; however I will also make some changes to the page
that I feel are necessary and as the project manager it is my responsibility to make sure that the
product is of a high a quality that it can possibly be, that may mean sometimes overrulingdecisions by other stakeholders although that will rarely occur as I feel that in order to create
the best possible product it must be a mixture of ideas from all stakeholders.

HistoryRiding the Stairway to
Heaven…
Here will be a brief history of the band and
their rise to glory. Following the appraisal
from the client and senior manager I have
decided that this should stay but could be
altered to make sure that only the most
interesting times in the bands history will
be explained. The style of writing will also
be changed to ensure that the end userswill be remain interested throughout the
use of the product.

Following the
appraisal I have also
decided that the pagemust have an extra
feature such as an
image here to
prevent the page
from looking boring
and plain. This
change was made as
a result from
suggestions from the
senior manager

Initial design for Video Page
The initial design for the video page of the product is shown above, this shows 6 videos and was
met by generally positive feedback from the stakeholders, this page is due to hold 6 videos but
there are doubts about whether the size of each page will allow this so I may have to revisit this
issue once implementation starts.

Email correspondence for Video Page
This is the response that I received from the client, Karolis Vizgirdas, his main concern is that the
lengthy nature of the title will be too long for the page, this issue will once again be revisited once
implementation initiates. His opinion will be taken seriously and I will make changes to the design
in accordance with his views. If a change in tittle is necessary the matter will be discussed at afuture meeting as the heading of a page is quite a significant change in the design of a product.

Here will be the
video for ‘Stairway
To Heaven’
‘Good times, Bad
Times’
‘Whole Lotta Love’ ‘CommunicationBreakdown’
‘Ramble On’ ‘Immigrant Song’
This page has changed but only slightly, as again the feedback from the client was mostly
positive. One thing that has changed is the size of the title, due to the recurring image in
the top right hand corner the font size has had to be reduced in order to fit the entire title in.
Due to the lengthy nature of the title, there could be a change of the title which will be
decided upon in the next meeting following the release of this updated design.
The theme that runs throughout the pages may be a problem here as most of the videos
are likely to be in monochrome so their could be an issue in the contrast of colours and the
ability to actually see the video could be impaired.

Initial design for Images Page
This is the initial design for the images page; as previously discussed there will
be a collage of images of the band throughout their history, these images will
have to be discussed as there are thousands of images which we could use but
it is crucial that we choose the right ones as this will make the page more
attractive and more popular with end users.

Email correspondence for Images Page
Here is an email that I received from the client with respect to the images page, he explains that he feels
that in order to ensure that this product is as good as it can be I must collect an archive of images of the
band which are both iconic and well suited to the product. I have my own ideas about what images to put
in and these will be put forward in the next design to be presented to all stakeholders. The client also
states that he is happy with the development of the rest of the page so not much will have to be changed
in order to enhance the quality of this page as he is happy with it. I will make changes to the design that I
feel necessary and then present them to the stakeholders at the or through email.

In this space there will be a collage of images from the
bands previous performances as well as images which
show the human side of the band; these could include
general pictures of the band members while off the stage.
This page was the most criticised during the appraisal last
meeting, the senior manager raised concerns about the
page being too dull and monotonous, to combat this
there could be various changes made. Firstly, the collage
of pictures would have to be large and each picture must
be clearly visible, secondly this page could include some
gif.images as well as j.peg images. This would make the
page more interesting as the gif pictures would be more
lively and could attract the attention of the users as they
may be seen as more interactive.
Overall, the initial design was met with a positive response meaning that no drastic
changes have to be made to the design. However, some changes have been made
in order to further satisfy the demands of the client and the views of the senior
manager. There will be additional changes to the design as the project develops
and it materialises: this is not the final design for the product.
